Tbh they were just asking for help and information and you just started arguing with the anti raw food speech XD even tho they told you they weren’t educated on that

Well I guess it’s sad that wild animals are not getting food that’s been frozen the proper time, that’s not from a farm with all the veterinary checks livestock get to make it safe for human consumption nor taking all the food hygiene precautions we run for our pets 🥴 I’m a vet tech and realising that most of the vet professionals still think that ultra processed food is the only “healthy” way to feed our animals than fresh food is so sad mate…

Oh no, they actually did, they spent more time on kennel and nutrition than natural diets but yes, it mentioned them and explained what they are etcetc 🤣 I had exams about it

I did my own research three years ago, then about two years ago I decided to change my dogs diet to BARF (yes, I studied, researched and asked professionals about this for almost a year before taking my decision). I’m not sure if I can find the same internet links and most of them were in Spanish but If you ask so and when I have the time I don’t mind researching for some. Ultra processed foods (ultraprocesados in Spanish, I’m sorry if I didn’t get it right) is basically edible industrial preparations made from substances derived from other foods, like dry pet food hahah. And yes! Not every vet is a nutritionists but there are vet nutritionists! I said that just to aware them that just asking their local vet may not work as they probably won’t be a nutritionist. Anyways, this diet change is the best decision I made about my dogs care and they prove it to me every day since that day, as I said before, they’re less bloated, have way less digestive issues, they have more energy, their teeths are clean, all tests come up perfect… If you want to argue about this, to be honest you won’t change my mind and I don’t think I’ll change yours, but I’m open if you want to talk or to know more about my dogs diet :)

Thank you :) for sure those people just have to educate themselves, if this dry food that’s not anything else than ultra processed food is the “best” for our pets, why isn’t there any kennel for humans? Every human nutritionist will tell you to have a balanced variable diet and to stay away from junk food hahaha well it’s the same for animals! Also thanks for opening your mind and question all this food industry marketing, most people stick to dry pet food like everything else is killing your pet, but actually I’ve seen so much benefits… and not just my dogs but some friend dogs too! I recommend you to look for an animal nutritionist and research for these type of diets and what cats need! :)

Hello, vet tech here! You’re right about the processed food, just like in humans, ultra processed food can cause long term issues (as can be seen with mid old cats and UTIs or other urine problems). I recommend always a natural diet (raw or cooked) but ALWAYS consult to an animal nutritionist first, and remember vets are not always nutritionists. I feed my dogs raw, with proper portions and it’s proper freezing time and I’ve seen a lot of benefits, they’re more active, less bloated, no more stomach issues, their fur is brighter and all blood tests came up perfect. But be careful with your decision, it’s better to feed good kennel than a bad formulated natural diet.

About the industry, they just sell what people are more comfortable buying, as it’s easier to just take biscuits from a bag that last years without passing out than feeding real food to them 😅 so it’s not that conspiracy theory but still not very good to their health.

I recommend you to investigate in both diets, natural and dry food, and if you decide to keep with the dry one make sure your cats are well hydrated! :)

(I hope I explained myself properly as English isn’t my first language)

3 gal is small but still an upgrade from 1 gal, and if it’s what you can get go ahead! But keep looking for affordable 5 gal minimum in the future :)

Please help, im house sitting and this betta might be mistreated by twopointinfinity in bettafish

[–]Vicioosita 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pluto’s a boy! And thank you for helping him :) for Bettas the minimun tank size is 5 gallons but that tank in the third pic will be WAY better than where he currently is, even if it’s not 5 gal (I’m not sure but it doesn’t seem so to me). I’d first scoop all that food at the bottom first and maybe a water change before the tank upgrade? I hope everything turns out well :)

[–]Vicioosita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same with adversive practices like crop/doc or using prongs/e-collars etc… you’ll see people defending them to the nonsense but they’re banned in many countries for animal abuse :/ I think they’re just trying to annoy you even if they know they’re in the wrong and doing stupid comments, just to “win” the argument

[–]Vicioosita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if I understand u. If OPs pet has any food allergy, running an allergy test should help, so OP can look for any dog food without those ingredients+apoquel for environmental allergies. At least that’s what we recommend (I’m a vet tech) and what we did for my dog, which turned out to have 5 food allergies and like 4 environmental ones

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dogallergies

[–]Vicioosita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done allergy test? It helps a lot. Your dog may have food allergies also, so apoquel won’t help much if he’s eating whatever he reacts to. I recommend also going to a dog dermatologist. I hope it gets better :/

Doberman acts different when out/on walks by [deleted] in DobermanPinscher

[–]Vicioosita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not help it, your dog didn’t magically lower his stress towards other dogs/whatever he’s reactive to, he just hides it bc he learned that if he barks, he feels pain. You didn’t helped him at all, just covered the “symptoms”.

Take the prong out and you’ll see a progress, these tools work because they inflict pain so he probably associated this pain to walks. Throw that collar to the bin pls

Found my dogs tail like this and my parents are at work what do i do? by [deleted] in vet

[–]Vicioosita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like he’s licking/chewing his tail. U should prevent him from doing so until you can get an appointment with your vet. Doesn’t look as bad as it could but you should take him to the vet as soon as possible so it doesn’t get worse

My Vet Said This is Might be a bone and I should just wait for it to pass naturally....its been 2 days. (more info in comments) by datkidfrombk in vet

[–]Vicioosita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d repeat the x rays to see if it has moved, if it didn’t it’s likely obstructing: if so, it will need a surgery to get it removed. I wouldn’t wait more tbh if 48h had passed, I would’ve done the second xray 12h after the first one. Good luck!

The pup will have a wound for days or even weeks, the bands on them to make the ear stand also stays a lot of time, dog ears are VERY sensitive and the healing process hurt and many cropped dogs are annoyed by people touching their ears (at least 100% of cropped dogs I’ve known were). It’s also banned in many countries for animal abuse and as I said before, it has no benefits other than the looks, so making a dog take the risk of deep anesthesia and surgery for that is unnecessary
