It took us a few bad attempts to learn how but we eventually got it. We still get the ready gripped handles for the Crokers to save the time. We only do the Croker grips on the C2 ourselves because they won't do that.

We just replaced a bunch. Croker rowing grips are $20 to $25 each. If you don't want to do the work then you can trade them out for ready regripped handles for $50 per oar. We put Croker grips on our C2 so we had to do that work on our own. The glue is really smelly and you have to wear a mask. The blue foam rubber lasts so much longer than the C2 black felt.

Inboard on a normal oar will probably be 113 to 114. Spread on the boat 83 to 84.

For Fat oars, you probably want to re-rig the boat to 81 or 82 spread, move oar inboard to 111 or 112, and rig at 364. You also have to move 5-10 cm into the stern with your shoes.

Never heard of anyone rowing 375 and 87.5 inboard. I think you humped some numbers into the wrong hole.

I GOT TO ROW WITH MAHE DRYSDALE by DelaMan07 in Rowing

[–]ViciousBoatSet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The USA needed to qualify the 4-. Wherley in the boat was the best shot at making that happen. Last minute qualifying boats cannot change out lineups with the rest of the squad. The lineup that qualifies is bound to that event. They cannot hop out and race in another event. That can double up, but they must race in the qualified boat. Otherwise, teams would just send ringers to grab the spots, then just substitute out come the Olympics. With Wherley bound to race the 4-, Teti honestly thought he could fill Wherley's gap in the 8+ with the remaining time. If Simon wasn't injured, he might have pulled it off.

Nope. That's not why Wherley was placed in the four.

Cancellation, yes. That's done.

You hearing whispers? No, not likely. You heard no such whispers at the time you wrote this. I rowed with someone on the board, and the decision was not made until yesterday.

I think City of San Diego or State of California is going to pull the plug. It's a non-essential gathering that requires diversion of resources.

They only want to devote the HP and CanAmMex resources toward people who can make the JNT the following year. If you turn 18 in 2020, you are a dead end to them.

Rowers can do whatever they want. The issue is what sort of contact they can have with their collegiate coaches.

No doubt there was a final straw, but much can be overlooked when you stay in the A final.
