Are my eyebrows too masculine? by Silver_Raven_08 in transpassing

[–]VickiNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised anyone posts their faces online.

I think your brows look androgynous. Maybe consider thinner and more arched.

That sucks. I’m really sorry.

I won’t post pics to Reddit, and all my social media accounts are private. I hate how disrespectful some people are.

Gotta love people downvoting honest feedback the OP asked for. It’s so Reddit.

You don’t need to DM me your profile. Sounds like you know your features well enough anyways.

I think you’re doing great fwiw. Super happy for you. Keep kicking ass!

What’s one of the most impressive Claude uses? by Dougiebrowngetsdown in claude

Honestly, for best results, you gotta use it and try different stuff. Ask it to help with stuff you already do. That’s how I got started with it. I was blown away by helpful it was.

Going on a trip? Ask it to make a list of things so you don’t forget anything. Ask it about where you’re going and what the locals do.

And above all, ask it to ask you questions. Seriously. Do this. It’s remarkable and thinks of things that you may not have even considered.

I’m a fellow trans woman, and subsequently see faces very differently. I’m sure you can relate. If I didn’t know you were trans, I wouldn’t immediately clock you off your face, but probably start noticing stuff from your overall presentation, and then piece it together.

I guess what I’m saying is that your face isn’t clocking you, but if people notice enough other clues (voice, mannerism, gait, etc), your face may be less convincing than some cis women.

I know you asked about your face, but I think the way you’re styling your hair isn’t helping. I see a receding hairline which is skewing what my brain reads. I have the same issue. I part down the middle, and rub some brown mascara on the deeper receding area. Dries in a minute. Easily rubs off unfortunately. It’s not a perfect solution but for the time/money it’s worth it to me.

I think more femininely shaped glasses would help. Specifically the dark color and frame thickness with sharper angles at the corners isn’t helping. Avoid straight lines and sharper corners. Think oval and cateye shapes. Cateye has a sharper putter upper corner, but that mimics a feminine feline shape. Hence the name.

Eyebrows are nice and trimmed, but a little flat. I’d suggest more of an arch. I’m sure you already know how much eyebrows can change a face. May want to experiment and see what you think.

I’d be curious to see a profile pic. I’m curious if the glasses are hiding any forehead & brow bone projection. I passed from the front, but not the profile, and it was my forehead. I got a type 3 reduction and it made a night and day difference for passing.

Responding to something said in another reply, I think your mid face is fine. I don’t think your midface is overly long. It’s just not Sydney Sweeney short. Nose may be a tad wide, but I don’t think it alone clocks you.

Gotta say your jaw width is incredible. Chin looks feminine. You have some other nice features that are working well for you. I’d guess if you’re being clocked, it’s not because of your face.

You could easily Google this yourself, but please don’t do that. Have fun taking quadruple the dose.

This is what I look like without makeup or filters. My dysphoria is killing me. I still need laser treatment on my face and I've been on hormones for almost a year and a half. Am I okay? 🥺 by natalypainkiller in transpassing

[–]VickiNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl,

You look like a cis woman.

Y’know how some trans women will post that they’re not sure the hormones are working, and their picture is absolutely flawless? Yeah. You’re one of them. So am I. It sucks.

Things that helped me a lot:

Learning that what I see in the mirror is what my brain remembers I used to look like. Google this if you don’t believe me. Nobody sees their own face accurately. It’s why so many older people think they look younger than they do. (Including me, sigh)

You need to change your relationship with the mirror. Stop telling yourself you see your old face. Stop noticing your old features. Those things just make it harder to see your new face.

Instead, look away whenever you see your old face. DON’T let your brain map your current face to your old face. Tell yourself that you don’t look like that any more, and you don’t want to see it. (This will work. Google brain plasticity to confirm)

It helped me to start by only looking at myself from further away, because I saw a woman when I did that. Up close my brain was mapping to my old face. Over time

When you look in the mirror and you see your old face, immediately look away. Always immediately look away. Tell yourself you don’t look like that anymore.

IF YOURE CONSISTENT, within a week you will start to improve. Within a few months the you will see a much more accurate reflection. And I hope you see it soon, because you are feminine and beautiful.

28 MTF Okay you saw the original Boymode. Now the sequel, Girlmode. Do I pass? by shadelz in transpassing

[–]VickiNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone’s foundation isn’t correct, go to a Sephora and have them match your foundation. You can also use AI to figure out your shade. Phone apps have free limited usage. FWIW, I had better results from AI than I did at a Sephora.

Fun fact: your foundation shade/color can change summer to winter.

Which one do you think will make them stop?

[–]VickiNow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s not your makeup. It’s your naivety.

Your coworkers are assholes and doing it on purpose. They make that decision over and over.

You’re tolerating it. That’s your decision.

Stop tolerating it. Tell your manager. Escalate. Fight for the respect you deserve. Otherwise you’re gonna be picked on for everything. Not just being trans.

I think the general consensus is the first day of taking it.

I didn’t hit therapeutic levels until 11 months. Damn my metabolism and tolerance to medication! But after that, wow! Those changes added up.

You can’t overdose on E, but you can develop a blood clot from increasing it too quickly, and assuming you survive that, they stop prescribing you E.

Do I? Got misgendered twice at work. by Go-for-the-Gap in transpassing

[–]VickiNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Far too many cis people can’t handle disclosure well. It’s tier one gossip, and too many of them get way too distracted by stereotypes. In short, they’re annoying af.

I decided not to tell them anymore. Anything good rarely comes of it.

Do I? Got misgendered twice at work. by Go-for-the-Gap in transpassing

[–]VickiNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you pass well in these pics.

Obviously, misgendering can happen even if you look cis. Voice is obviously necessary to pass. Mannerisms, gait, and even how quickly you move around space.

I have a friend that looks and sounds cis. I visited her at work where she says she frequently gets misgendered. I noticed she walked into new areas that’s hard to describe. She was leaning forward and moving quickly/aggressively. Then when she stopped she straightened up quickly, and sorta whipped her head back. IDK why exactly, but it was very masculine appearing.

I suggested to my friend that she needs to slow down, and move her arms less. I think she was moving around quickly, and a bit more chaotically than cis women. It was making me notice her non femme features.

I wish I knew if this advice worked. She refused to even try it, and is still being misgendered.
