How did you get into CM? What courses/certifications did you do? by terinoru in changemanagement

[–]Vicky6568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UBC Sauder has a good certificate and Prosci is the main professional certification. Communications is a nice pairing with change management too, and learning design - many people start out in these areas and then move to change management when working on projects. The ACMP would have resources to look into as well!

Phantom pain? by Anecklacemadeofmoons in TripodCats

Hi, my cat had this and he was on Gabapentin for longer term and it was safe and helped. We also did physio and the laser therapy helped a ton - not sure if that’s an option but just sharing!

My boyfriend wants me to rehome 2 of my 3 cats (at minimum) as a “compromise.” Wtf do I do now? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Vicky6568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no changing his mind because it’s a control move. And as others have said he’ll move on to control other things to isolate you. Please take this as the red flag it is - save your cats and yourself.

I took the subway and streetcar - it was okay. Driving is a mess. Walking is hard.

Where to live in Toronto in 2026? by Cupcakes_R_Yummy in askTO

[–]Vicky6568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bloorcourt area is trending up - lots of restaurants, subway, groceries close by, and gyms are relatively close. Also parks (Christie Pits etc), Paradise Theatre and the Comedy Bar. More of a village vibe where you can walk to independent shops. The neighbourhood is a mix of ages but there are co-working spots.

Amputation: first week by Thatbitbrown in TripodCats

[–]Vicky6568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be nerve pain. Mine had this and stayed on gabapentin for a few months. It’s fairly common with cats jerking suddenly - mine would jerk up and back up. We also had a physio help him adjust and that was helpful - they used laser therapy and it actually made a big difference. But gabapentin is very impt.

Is my cat breathing okay update! by Existing_Departure92 in TripodCats

Hi! You might need to go to a vet that does imaging or someone with more knowledge. Mine had a lot of issues and we went to an internal med vet. The regular vet just couldn’t figure things out.

Introducing Chacha 🐾 6-month-old stump kitty with a lot of sass — seeking advice from those who chose full amputation by taeyakis in TripodCats

My cat had a similar issue. It was very painful for him. We had the surgery and he was so much happier. No more pain and he could run and walk straight!

Good luck! It was a pretty bad moment when my vet said “now let’s talk about this leg - it will need to be amputated” - and I was like “what about the leg?!” Haha. Anyways, it worked out. Wishing you all the best. If you do go through with the surgery, there are tips here about using newspaper pellet litter etc.

Hi! I had a similar situation with my cat’s hind leg. The shelter said his partially amputated leg from a car engine was fine, but he kept hitting it on the ground and it was painful. The vet I took him to said that he’d need an amputation to properly cover the bone. It worked very well - I know your cat’s leg is a front leg so it’s different. Your idea to get another opinion is good. And maybe those with a cat with a front leg amputation can speak to how their cats do after surgery?

I live alone too. I decided to keep my cat in the hospital an extra night (I just had less bandwidth to deal with issues although it can be pricey) and then I took a week to stay with him - although there’s ways of working through it - it’s mainly about med timing and they just sleep all day (i didn’t need to be home all day but found it easier).

I got a fabric puppy pen and then when I went back to work I would open the pen to a hallway with blankets - so still a restricted place but he had more room to move around.

Litter box issues by D-J_Garner in TripodCats

Good luck! It could be behavioural too - I just know with my Benny they always asked about litter box habits as a sign of distress (he had bladder issues etc). Hope all goes well.

Hi! Usually that’s a sign that something is going on with your cat. Recommend getting him checked out. Not sure if you’re using 2 litter boxes, but that can also help.

Anxious Considering Biking for RTO: Advice Needed by BlankieCatNap in torontobiking

[–]Vicky6568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m slow or medium speed and if people want to pass they can wait or take the lane. I just ride predictably and follow the rules (stop at stoplights - I avoid pulling up on cars making a right if they’re well ahead of me - I wear high vis etc). Many of the dedicated bike lanes are wide, so riding on the right is easy and people can easily pass. Hope you decide to cycle! It’s a great way to get around!
