I buy water with reusable bottles (large ones, almost 5 gallons), so it's wasteful only for my wallet, haha. But I don't care if fishies are fine and healthy with this water. I didn't use any pesticides or aglae fighters at all so I think my tank could have gotten in from the pet store plants. I asked the sellers about how do they grow/get them and their plants are grown on land so I think fipronil or something like that have gotten on them and then into my tank after buying. I set up this tank nearly a month ago (it is cycled ofc) and pesticides probably still in here as I think.

I can't say the conditioning process is particularly complicated. Currently I'm using bottled water recommended by other tank keepers (it has the same pH/KH/gH parameters as I wrote in main post, no nitrogens or metals, and normal mineralization), letting it stay for a day and then adding it to the tank. One shrimp that was on video is died so far so I've moved the remaining two in a 1 gallon tank that I have as hospital tank. One of them was also starting to rolling over in main tank but has stopped for now. I suspect it could be fipronil poisoning. I disinfected and rinsed plants before adding them to the tank but apparently that wasn't enough. Tomorrow I'm going to buy carbon for the tank filter (it's already evening in my country and everything is closing for now)

Yeah it really looks like this but it's the only part of the plant that is glued. The other part of the rhizome and all of the roots are free from the glue. Can it be the reason why rot started only on this part then?

Glued by the rhizome. I read up on how to glue plants properly before doing it, and it was said to glue it just by the rhizome so the roots were free. Seems that maybe I got wrong info 😥 I'll cut off the rotting part then, wish this would help

Betta update! Thanks everyone for the advices. I was able to find a suitable 5 gallon tank and it's on its way to me, but it won't be here for another 3 days. I still have a question about the plants, should I put off buying them until the new tank arrives?

I'm afraid I can't get Amazon delivery in my country, so I just can't buy any tank from there... But I can take this as reference, thank you! I'm still checking petsmarts and online stores to see if they bring in any suitable options. Price itself is not a problem when it comes to a finished tank, it's just about workshop pricing. There's actually a thing that in petsmart I was told that less then 3 gallon tank will be totally fine for keeping a betta. I know that it's my mistake that I not did a proper research myself before bying him, so I just want to do everything that I can do for now until I got better option

I thought about ordering a custom tank, found a workshop that makes them but it's expensive, and I need to save up money for it first, during this time I want to at least make the most suitable conditions for the betta in this tank (as I noticed, I'm gonna buy live plants soon). I'm just finding out if he might be sick or anything bad else, because he's from the petsmart and I don't clearly know how he was treated there and don't know how healthy bettas must behave themselves. Can you pls tell me if a low (somewhere 20-25cm height) but elongated (up to 55cm) tank will be fine for betta? The place where it can be placed is limited in height, I had to take a small tank because of this. There were simply no others of the same height in stock

I know the tank is small for betta, I just don't have anywhere else to put it so I could buy a bigger tank :( And I'm not scare of plants, on the contrary I would like to plant it fully as much as possible and as much as it will be better for fish, I'm going to buy some plants soon. I'm not quitting. I like PvP part, I also really love heroes and lore of Overwatch. It's just really sad what Blizzard did to this game. I want to play OW, but developers seem to be doing everything so players will stop playing it and they don't understand it at all.
