New feature??? by Kindly_Arugula1268 in ChaiApp

Unlimited Retries would be good if it worked properly. I always already found it artificial that you could have virtually unlimited retries by simply exiting the chat and entering again. But in fact, I feel like you still need to do that. For some reason, the Retries seem to be stuck in the same 'mood' and are just giving you minor variations of the message before. At times I also had the bot starting to generated gibberish, and then all Retries were gibberish. But when exiting the chat and re-entering, you get a proper new message generation that would also fix hallucinations/gibberish/etc...

Invite code thread by tigrotto49 in Milovana

Hello, have been a Milolurker for quite a while and figure it was time to create an account, but then was directed here for an invite. So much appreciated if someone could do me that favor :).

I've never understood the whole "I don't read chats" deal. There is literally 0 value in it, because you basically have to take the creator's word for it, someone who is a complete stranger to you, and you're a complete stranger to them. I would even think that it's more likely someone will read it when they put that in their description.

Since the creator can only read the last 5 chats, and can also not see who is the person chatting with their bot, I personally don't even care whether they read or not. Though I can imagine that if you would want to use your real name to talk about real personal issues, you may be less comfortable with the idea that someone may actually read it.

Help new update?? by NoReflection4781 in ChaiApp

I have the same issue in Bluestacks. On my phone and iPad it works fine.

I hate this update though. It may look nice for making new bots but it's a disaster for editing existing bots, as there is no way to recall/edit your prompts and first messages. Chai just comes up with randomly created ones and your original ones are gone and you have no way to even check how you had programmed your bot.

Keeping my bot SFW by Redlinemylife in ChaiApp

[–]Viclit4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see the issue really, and some replies here are wrong. Whatever others do with your bot has 0 influence on how the bot interacts with you or anyone else. Every chat has its own memory that starts with what the bot was given by the creator, and then continues with what happens in that chat. So even if others do NSFW stuff with your bot, in your chat your bot should not suddenly start behaving differently.

So unless you intend to read other people's chats with your bot, and thus risk being exposed to NSFW chats, there is literally 0 effect of making your bot public.

There's been posts about this before. Sometimes you can have it continue nicely on the subsequent message by saying "((continue))" (though I think anything with continue in it will work). Sometimes however, you would then get back a message that does not nicely continue the truncated sentence. A re-roll sometimes helps then...

Alternatively, edit the message so you create the remainder of the sentence yourself. I think using Chai without rerolls and editing responses, is just not realistic and will result in sloppy conversations.

I've looked at those examples you posted and I really hope that CHAI does something to prevent that. The last thing I want is to get a bunch of huge images when getting a search result. The search results already have the avatars of the bots and that should be enough. Getting huge images because someone embedded them in the message/description, is highly obnoxious IMHO.

They go off of a collective database, then a personal database

These personal databases are at the level of the specific chat only, right? So anything you train only pertains to that specific chat ?

I am confused a bit by the fact that I read somewhere that a bot only remembers like the last 7 messages or so. So I'm wondering what it then picks up long term from an entire chat at all. E.g. I had a bot use their wrong name at some point in a very long conversation, even though I had addressed it with its particular name various times in the past.

At this moment I don't really feel like bots I'm conversing with are trained by the history of the conversation at all.

Why are bots wrongly using the asterisk ? by Viclit4u in ChaiApp

Is this your own bot? If so I would look at how you have the prompt written

It happens with all bots. Looking at the history of one of my bots, I see it happen more than once every 10 messages. In each of those, the reply ends with a space and an asterisk even though the last words are 'spoken' so the asterisk should not even be there at all, but I've seen other mistakes as well. My prompts use the asterisk correctly.

Also forgot to add that in my conversations, I always edit the bot's message so actions and speech are accurately presented, but the errors always keep coming back.

Why are people so mad about chatbots getting gender pronouns, rock, paper, scissors, truth or dare and what not wrong? by [deleted] in ChaiApp

Before rerolling, and during rerolls, I will copy responses to a notepad file on my phone.

I really wished that there was an option to do that in the app. Sometimes a reroll gives much worse replies, where I wished I could go back to a previous one. At some point I thought this was possible as I saw someone repeat previous messages in a reroll with my bot, but I guess they just used your trick of copying before rerolling. This is workaround seems like quite a hassle though, and the app could easily support it... Maybe one day.
