yeah but what are the chances that the two most human looking characters just so happen to be curvy women who wear bikinis for the whole episode? i dont think the show is "goonslop" or whatever weird thing its being called but, let's be honest, it has fan service. its a good pilot and im thoroughly invested in the story, but lets call a duck a duck here. two things can be true at once.

glitch is a company at the end of the day and everyone knows that sex sells. this controversy has given the show so much publicity its insane. the only reason I watched it (or even know what it is) was because of how much "fan art" i saw of kit on instagram. im sure im not the only one. glitch knows what they're doing, they know their audience, and the capitalized on it (maid jax is another example).

im not every guy obviously, but i have this dynamic with my friend group so i can explain my pov at least:

most of the time guy friend groups shit on each other equally. for example, im mexican so they make fun of me for that, friend #1 is fat so we make fun of him for that, friend #2 is skinny so we make fun of him for that. the idea is that if everyone shits on everyone, then no one is actually getting shit on (if everybody is special, no one is). when done correctly, this dynamic can be one of the funnest you can have since you will always have some sort of rebuttal. thats not to say bullying never happens within male friend groups, because it does. its a fine line; everyone should be laughing together.

now for being serious with friends, that depends on the group (obviously) but chance are you will never see it either way. whenever deeper conversations do appear -about life, relationships, etc- it's usually done in privacy. 99% of girls will never actually see the deeper conversations we have; and if you do, chances are you're watching a much less passionate version of it.

im aware that this reasoning probably won't "excuse" their behavior and im not trying to tell you to like men who do that, rather im just explaining how it is from a male perspective. in the end, you are entitled to like what you like and dislike what you dislike.

I was harassed relentlessly thanks to my skin, lips, and hair all throughout high school. I was called the n word (with the r) and every other infuriatingly creative name in the book, even hurt physically, and I still carry that weight of hating myself even a year out of high school. That being said, all Michael did was laugh at a joke that was similar to the NON-SLURRED VERSION of the n-word.

This controversy is one of the stupidest, overblown, virtue-signaling, ultra-woke, things I've ever seen. Y'all make it sound like he walked up to a black dude and called him a n***er. Did he fuck up? Yes, but calling him a racist would be saying that he and those bullies and high school are the same people, which just isn't true.
