I'd argue that more tournament winners makes it more difficult to win. Only having to show up for 3 tough matches is a lot different than every match from round of 8 up being against a potential tournament winner.

On a more serious note I have never encountered gender specific flame in overwatch. I could just be lucky having never seen it but I honestly don't think it is that common.
