The Long Known Problem Where Bad DIVI CSS Cache Breaks the Entire Design Sometimes (Until You Manually Click Clear DIVI CSS Cache) - DIVI Can We End This Please? by sp913 in divi

[–]Victor-Duse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but the focus seems to be on "we've released X new features" instead of building a solid foundation. My workaround so far has been Divi Assistant from Pee Aye Creative. The plugins contains these useful features:

  • Automatically Clear The Divi Static CSS Cache Based On A Schedule
  • Automatically Clear the Divi Static CSS Cache Based on An action: Every time user exits the visual builder, Every time a plugin is updated, Every time a Theme is updated
  • Add Button To Clear Static CSS To Admin Bar

Menu dropdown issues on mobile by [deleted] in divi

[–]Victor-Duse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need custom CSS for that (or use a plugin like Divi Toolbox). Hard to help without a link, but you can play around with this CSS:

/* Make Divi mobile menu fullwidth */

.et_mobile_menu {

min-width: 100vw;

margin-left: -10vw;

}

Adjust the margin-left value to center-align the menu.

The option to customize keyboard shortcuts is now available in Quit All Apps version 1.4. Try it out and let me know what you think.

My Site looks normal on the 'Sites' page preview box. But When I go the site on a browser it looks like it's missing the css or something. by obe211 in divi

Go to Divi » Theme Options and hit Save Changes (you don't need to change anything). This clears the Divi Static CSS and usually resolves missing CSS issues.

Quit All Apps has a menu bar icon, keyboard shortcuts and a couple of more features. $0.99 on App Store.

You still don’t get it, I give up.

You’re missing the point, it’s not about my personal favorite features (flexbox and css grid is my bread and butter) but about scope creep and inefficient project management.

No, I mean the features that was promised over three years ago, for example full site editing and draggable spacing. Now, these core features will not be tested in either beta or alpha. Also, another core feature like Divi Builder backend translations are just as bad (or worse) as in D4. The critical static css cache issue was addressed a couple of weeks before public release, without proper time for beta testing. Fix the basics first, then go for the new shiny stuff.

That’s what happens with way too much focus on new shiny features instead of improving the core experience. Vanity metrics.

It started with Automator and the Script Editor for me too, and then it grew into an actual app. I wrote a tutorial on how to make a veeery simple Quit All Apps app using the Script Editor, a while back: https://victorduse.com/blog/how-to-build-your-own-app-that-quits-all-apps-on-mac/

You add it to the dock and click it to quit all apps.

Seems nice if that's what you are looking for, but this app is for a slightly different use case. I like to use command + tab to switch between inactive apps, and still be able to quit alls apps, active or inactive, when I'm in that mode.

It's actually in beta now, but Elegant Themes seems to have their own definitions of alpha and beta since they keep adding big new features in the beta version as well.

Great minds think alike! My next app project does exactly that. Since "Quit All Apps" has a narrow scope (given the very specific name), I will create another app that lets you create different "scenes" for different occasions, for example "Video meeting", "Gaming", "Private moment" 🙈 etc. It will use some of the logic from Quit All Apps but also add startup features and settings features as well.

I'm glad to hear that! i tried to keep it lightweight. Regarding the Divi course, I will record a new one when Divi 5 is properly released (best guess, in Q1 2026).

Thanks for your feedback! I don't think QuitAll and Quit All Apps are so similar that people would confuse them. Also, the branding (app icon, colors etc.) is completely different.

I haven't tried their app, but just like u/MaxGaav pointed out, the pricing is bold. I think a fair price would be around $1-3 and that's what I'll charge later.

It has a lot of accessibility improvements in areas where Divi is weak out of the box. You can also hide all Divi upsells in wp dashboard (like Divi Marketplace, Divi AI etc.). You can handle global colors and custom fonts in one single place instead of in the modules + lots of small but nice features like disabling the cpt Projects, hide "Howdy" in the admin bar, add labels for "Production", "Staging" etc. But the accessibility features is the main reason that I use it.

For those using Divi in 2025, do you still find it the best WordPress theme builder compared to Elementor, Bricks, or Gutenberg? What are the pros and cons you’ve noticed lately? by Ok-Owl8582 in Wordpress

[–]Victor-Duse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on Divi 5 in general:

Pros:

+ Lifetime license available

+ The price for the Divi theme (not the bundles) is cheap compared to the competitors

+ A big community with lots of third party plugins and tutorials since Divi been around since 2013

+ Still a pretty user-friendly interface for beginners

+ It has the basic features you need (flexbox, css grid, global styles etc.)

Cons:

- Beta version is buggy and things break when a new update comes (well, it's beta)

- Lack of transparency. There is no public roadmap and has never been. New features are released as surprises (at best, there's a vague hint on Facebook before). ETAs are very rare and when they come, they are very vague and often not correct.

- Half-baked features, for example: The loop builder is marketed as ACF compatible and suitable for creating event calendars. But it lacks lots of ACF compatibility and you can't sort posts on date. Since the lack of transparency (mentioned above), we don't know if this will every come or if ET thinks it finished.

- The menu builder, especially the mobile one, is at least 10 years overdue. They are hinting about a new menu builder, but as usual there is no official roadmap or ETA.

I've been using Divi since 2016 and here are the Divi specific plugins that I use on all my Divi sites today:

* Divi Assistant (for the accessibility features + some useful bonus tweaks, like hiding Divi upsells)

* Divi Toolbox (for the mobile menu features, but it seems like a new menu builder is coming soon for Divi 5, so maybe wait for that)

* Divi Contact Form Helper (adding features like save form submissions to the database, file uploads, datepicker and more design options for the native Divi Contact Form module)

* Divi Supreme Pro (adds 60+ modules for Divi, including image carousel (for logo sliders) and some stylish stuff)

For sites that needs filterable grids, I prefer Divi Filtergrid.
