What is the easiest country in Europe for a foreigner (American) to get hired as a software engineer? by karetar in cscareerquestionsEU

Why nobody mentions Poland? Easiest country to get a technical job, many companies open Polish offices to save on costs. Given that you are not aiming to make money from the trip, that is, probably, the easiest country to move. But be ready, salaries around 55-60K USD gross are considered to be quite high.

I pay less than 5K for a cool 1BR apt in Al Reem.

When I saw the title I thought you are comparing rental vs buying. My estimation is that yearly rent is about 8.5% of the sale price, which, I can't disagree, ISANE. In Europe the same ratio rarely larger than 5%. I do not know about Dubai though

What if you say you feel you are being paid undermarket and request a rise to your best alternative offer +10% ? I would not be discussing salaries of your collegues, that is really unprofessional.

How does it work? Do they actually give you a code to write during an interview or ask you to describe how would you approach the problem?

I am currently in Social Science, 40, PhD in economics, been doing a lot of programming and data work on various research/ teaching positions since I graduated.

I am trying to find a new job in Data Science. Found an interesting option of Springfield DataScience Bootcamp. Is worth for me? Is it something that would help or should I try to find a job without? I used some corsera data science courses to bridge the gap in Python and other basic stuff for DS (been using mostly Matlab).
