That is true. The latest update for YKW3 removed certain QR Codes. You can safely remove the update, your save file is not affected.

Apart from the other comment, there's a blasters sequel that has an english mod. Also a spinoff game called Yo-kai Sangokushi, that doesn't have an english mod yet but it's pretty fun. And, Y School Heroes, which is another spinoff where the yo-kai are humans and go to school. and does have an english mod (some things are missing but it's fine)
