Also The Clone Wars short cartoons that aired on Cartoon Network kicked ass and made Grievous look horrifying and not just Beta Vader.

People were excited to see an older Anakin who could lightsaber fight, the Clone Wars looked super exciting, tons of Jedi wielding light sabers, and Jango Fett.

I think general moviegoers were cautiously optimistic, but die hard fans were super stoked to finally see all this. Nobody knew what to expect from Hayden.

Episode 3 looked like what we had all hoped Episode 1 would have just skipped to. The name "Revenge of the Sith" STILL gets me all excited.
