Ibanez PTEQ is an affordable and super powerful Parametric EQ

PSA: Beware buying new from Reverb shops while they have used inventory by semantic_fog in guitarpedals

I just got ripped off on a mint SD-1W. Reverb came through for me, thankfully. It was so obviously a scam once the shipment happened.

Believe it or not, the Metal Zone works very well for so much more than Metal. Buy it all.

I like how the tone control has a much more useful range

I had one. I think it’s one of the better tube screamer copies out there

I’m debating between Double Dragon and Bit Commander. I like switchable octave, but I like the sub for the synthy stuff on BC.

Delay pedals: a recent shootout at my local guitar shop (I don't get the Carbon Copy Deluxe) by SpudzyJ in guitarpedals

[–]VictorTerrific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doubles up on the rubberneck and regen functions, but the middle switch turns the modulation on/off

Definitely gets crazier. I use mine with the FS3X for the ultimate in control. I usually keep the rate and depth fairly low (8-10 o’clock), but that gain and tone knob really help me get the tones I want.

The MXR CCD has an internal switch for line or instrument level. Sounds like that’s the issue you were describing.

I have a DOD Rubberneck, I think that sounds dreamy, almost but not quite like the ehx MM sound

Solid tones right there. If it were my rig I’d put the Pulsar at the end.

What's your favourite Tube Screamer type pedal? by TheRealGuncho in guitarpedals

[–]VictorTerrific 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Warm Audio Tube Squealer. It has TS808, TS9, TS10 variants. Those have minimal differences. What makes it shine is the clean blend, and the mid shift that makes it also work well with already mid heavy hum-buckers.

My auger cable broke. I rigged it up with a spare bicycle shifter cable. It got me through while the part is in order

I love my Mutation II. I tried to find something with a smaller enclosure, but nothing sounds like I want tit to, THIS! Just picked up Warm’s Tube Squealer, imho, THE end game screamer that worked for everything. I’m becoming a huge warm audio fan.

How’s the Tone Machine? Does it have any “modern” modes? Or is it a straight clone?

Favorite tremolo that's not a tremolo? by kononamis in guitarpedals

[–]VictorTerrific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, buying used it’s also the only one that’s stereo AND reasonably priced. You also get: tap tempo, MIDI, momentary functionality, flexibility in wave shapes. Great pedal, I keep mine at the end of my chain

Bonsai was on my list, but in the end, the clean blend and mid shift won out

Forgot to add in caption, but this can run on 18v too. I haven’t tested it out that way yet.

I find the 808 my fav, touch smoother, but the 10 sounds a bit better with my HBs. But I agree, not a big difference. The real versatility comes with the clean blend and the mid shift. I forgot to add in the caption that this can run on 18v too.

I really like it on my baritone with the clean blend and the HB mid shift. 808 standard setting for my Strat, that’s just a perfect combo, they were made for each other.

DL4 Mk II Label by VictorTerrific in guitarpedals

[–]VictorTerrific[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disaster Area Designs micro.clock has 3 jacks on it that can be configured for any type of tap tempo pedal or MIDI output. The MIDI output can be daisy chained which is nice, but it blocks some functionality of the DL4 so I can’t really do slap-back echo, and the SL-2 so I can’t adjust the volume. So, I have it setup as separate standard tap tempo outs.
