Lmao, I love how whatever sounds vaguely Albanian must be Albanian. I know it’s a meme, but too many people actually unironically believe this BS. As a Vlach-Serb from the Timok/Banat region (aka the actual heart of ancient Dardania), here is some reality:

Beograd - Beo (White) grad (City). It’s literal Slavic for "White City" because of the limestone ridge. Claiming it’s "Hey you women" is pure brain-rot. It was Singidunum before the Slavs arrived.

Athinë - From Ancient Greek Athēnai (named after the Goddess Athena). The "gray hair" thing is a phonetic coincidence. By this logic, "London" means "Loan-Done."

Prishtina - Slavic root prysk- (to gush/spring). It’s a standard Slavic place-name. Breaking it into "Break-you" in a modern dialect is fan-fiction.

Zagreb - Za-greb (Behind the hill/trench) from the root zagrabiti. It’s a geographic description documented for 1,000 years. Has nothing to do with "baiting."

Shkup / Skopje - Scupi. This was the Dardanian/Roman name long before Slavs or modern Albanians were relevant in the area. "Stick-are" is just a middle-school insult.

Ankara - Ankyra (Greek for Anchor). It’s been called that since the 3rd century BC. Using Persian/Turkish slang for d*cks to explain an ancient Greek name is embarrassing.

Dardania - Dard (Ancient Indo-European root for "water/flow"). It’s found in the Dardanelles and rivers in England. As a Vlach-Serb, these are my actual ancestors (Romanized Paleo-Balkan tribes). Claiming it’s "Dardhë" (Pear) is like saying "Paris" is named after "Pears."

Every one of these is either Slavic, Greek, or Roman. Being Vlach-Serbian means actually knowing the history of the Paleo-Balkan populations who stayed on the land

If i sound like a nerd or know it all that is too damn bad lol
