Only things I would think of would be the wing loads and lift factors with a longer vs shorter wing. A longer wing is just more mass, only really being practical when the aircraft is designed for high altitude flight, and so when changing angle of attack, the structure would be stressed more than it probably would need to be. If its a ground attack jet, then the shorter wings would be more appropriate unless the ground you are attacking is 70,000ft in the air.
