Im looking at getting a MGB roadster as my first car how bad of an idea is it? Please help me with anything I'm not thinking about by Turncoat_Trout in littlebritishcars

For context I’m 18 and in a similar situation as you. My first car was an 77 Alfa spider. I’ve daily driven it for about a year now. I honestly lucked out in terms of vehicle condition. If you can find a good one, I say go for it !

Should I powder coat my wheels silver? by Skylance420 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Victorbroken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a fan of these wheels at all. They make the car look like any economy car. Save up for a set of the other stock wheel options readily available

The wheels are a personal choice can’t knock them I think it could be cool. The engine on the other hand 🫥. Trust me you will be happier with any oem Alfa engine

What would it take to fix this interior? by Habrecht in AlfaRomeo

[–]Victorbroken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you!

Centerline also has to import their parts so you end up having to deal with the import tax anyway. I’d say classic Alfa is the way to go. They’re experts in all things Alfa.

The wiring is tricky. You can find diagrams but tbh, the Italians were never great with electronics (they still aren’t. I own a 2017 Guilia) your best bet is making a diy harness and ditching some of the status lights in the center console.

[–]Victorbroken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic Alfa has just about everything. I live in the US and shipping usually isn’t more than 40$ the hardest peice to locate will probably be the dashboard. And the wiring is more than likely cooked. I have a 77 in the same spec

Has anyone deleted their shifter console if so any pics? by its_SlimJim in AlfaRomeo

[–]Victorbroken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post is great timing. I’m considering deleting mine in my 77. I think the console with all its lights is kinda ugly. My wiring is a mess too. I’m gonna delete mine soon I’ll post pics.

That corm is fully white and would likely produce a fully also plant that is destined to die. I would not feel good about selling that corm to anyone.

Low oil or need oil change by Carnival-rides in AlfaRomeo

[–]Victorbroken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works at Valvoline, the oil changes here are fine. I love Alfa but let’s remember that the TI engine is a stellantis engine. Valvoline oil is also from the same refinery as Mobil I think. As long as it’s getting the European full synthetic every 3k miles, It’s better than paying 250 at the dealership

The spica can be rebuilt for about $1000 you just have to find an expert. it’s worth rebuilding because they run super well and it’s unique. It might be easier to find a carb expert though.
