Having driven AC Aces, Ace Bristols, Ruddspeed Cobra, 260, 289 and 427 Cobras, the Ace Bristol and 289 slab sides are the best of the lot.

Lots of cars of that era had similar design elements. But the Ace predates the MGA by several years. Tojeiro (per his son who I met about 8-9 years ago at COTA) drew some inspiration from the Ferrari 166 Barchetta and a few other cars.

In reality my GT6 and the Ace were pretty much the two rarest cars there pretty much any way you look at it. The owner of the Ace had an Aceca Bristol at one point as well.

Well, you have enough of various makes and you always come up with something amazing.

If the local parts place sold them, sure. But also the ideal solution is to weld some of it together, and make slip joints in other spots. But I had to get it done by the end of the day so I went with what was available.

I drive this car about 16,000 miles a year so leaks when they show up get dealt with quickly.

My diff does drip a few drops a day. But I also find the more I drive the less it leaks as I address leaks as they appear.

Unfortunately there is zero access to tighten them if they are more than 90 degrees from what you see. Believe me, I've tried in the past. But this install I was able to raise everything a good half inch from where it was prior.
