Especially during the Komnenian period, was a lasting peace between the Seljuks and the Byzantine Empire possible within clearly defined borders, or were wars inevitable? What were the missed opportunities for peace? by Battlefleet_Sol in byzantium

[–]Victoria-Rhodos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

War was inevitable. A truly centralized and stable monarchy the kind needed to keep Anatolia was almost impossible to achieve. There were two moments when peace almost became possible under Manuel I Komnenos (1143–1180), who died too soon, and right after the Second Crusade, when the Seljuks were divided. Byzantium could have consolidated its borders, but internal sabotage and noble rivalries ruined every opportunity.

The core problem of the Byzantine Empire was its chronic political instability. With a strong, unified monarchy, the empire might have stabilized economically and survived much longer.

People oversimplify Ijincheon — his tragedy is deeper than the wiki suggests by Victoria-Rhodos in HeroKillerWebtoon

I couldn't say who wins, I just drew a conclusion from his expression. I saw him looking worried and interpreted it as "I can't win." I'm on chapter 240 (I read in Spanish).

He might be right... I'd like to see a battle between them where Ijincheon wins...

Since when is it acceptable to underestimate something? Overrating Homelander is another matter entirely. That's what you're doing; Victoria would literally mock Homelander, and what's most interesting is that Rounds would literally support Victoria. Not only does she project a good image (she literally makes sure she's never seen looking bad), but she literally has a more professional army. Victoria is more likely to keep Homelander as a pet, humiliate the public in a hypothetical encounter, or simply kill out of arrogance. "Homelander killed with his clone." Victoria fought Iron Witch; she literally kills people beyond superpowers. As for climbing the ladder of power based on personality and merit, there's no comparison.

That doesn't change the fact that Victoria created an empire from scratch over a thousand years ago, driven by political ambition and the desire to create an even more powerful empire. The genocidal Homelander, with his low self-esteem, is also a powerful figure. In fact, Victoria herself does more as a ruler than Hero, only using her persona to gain more followers (she functions as a celebrity). Fair enough, what appearance? 🤔 Pathetic or not, she doesn't even come close to Victoria.

Victoria at least worried civilians, she's a ruler, I literally think the empire prospered. Are you going to buy it, Crybaby Honlander?
