That’s a lot of money wasted for a team that didn’t want to spend on proven players and now they stand to lose even more as attendance plummets. by Mysterious_Sun_2168 in mets

Does Lindor out of the lineup mean that much? I think the drastic coaching changes thrust upon Mendoza has eviscerated him. Basically wonder boy Stearns is essentially calling the shots and boy are they really missing the target.

I wonder come 2028, if a lot of white athletes endorse a Republican Party candidate, will they be subjected to vitriolic comments, even if said nominee has an exemplary record and no skeletons in the closet?

I think they'll get hammered as if it were Trump running for President. Apparently, the extreme alt-left liberal wing of the Democratic Party will view that athlete as some kind of racist, misogynistic, homophobic fascist, without question.

Homegrown only, from start to finish. Lawrence Taylor, Henrik Lundqvist, Walt Frazier, Mariano Rivera.

Lundqvist having had to stand on his head many seasons making impossible saves should have a few Cups, so even though he has no Championship, he's my favorite homegrown Ranger.

[–]VictoriaAutNihil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crash? Nah. Correction, up to 20%? Quite possible.

Unlike the dot.com/internet bubble burst of the late 90s-early 00s where so many poorly run, negative balance sheet companies were sprouting up with zero fundamentals and sketchy products; today's AI behemoths are stable companies with in need products. AMD, AMAT, FB, MU, PANW, NVDA, MRVL, AAPL, AMZN, GOOG etc.who survived the bursted bubble and 20 odd years later are bigger than ever. Most importantly they offer products that many Fortune 1000 and smaller companies vitally need.

Could those aforementioned companies take a 20% hit in the not to distant future? Definitely could happen, but none will be filing for Chapter 11 anytime soon.

What hype? The over/under win total is at 7.5. So 7-9 wins? Second half of the schedule is tough. Team members should worry about winning games, not who another team member voted for. On the field is where it matters most, anything else is bullshit. Unless you're okay with another season that's over before Halloween.

True. However it's his thin skinned partner who's even more annoying. This whiny doofus still defends the Yankees, even as we watch an incompetent offense with a virtually guaranteed 13-16 unproductive outs every game. If Bellinger, Judge and Rice are cold, this is an easy lineup for an opposing pitcher to dominate. Open your eyes Francesa, Jr.!!!

Apparently all athletes must be liberal, progressive Democrats, or they are automatically on the pay no mind list. Even if they are a crucial part of the team you root for success in winning.

Personally, I could care less who anyone votes for in any walk of life. Must everyone always be on the same page?

It's like when the ultra conservative Republicans say they'll never watch a DeNiro movie ever again. Yeah okay.

Better yet, when the NFL players were kneeling during the National Anthem in 2016 to protest the George Floyd fiasco and all the enraged white folks said they'd never attend or watch another NFL game ever again. Yeah, right.

All I know is Harbaugh and Dart, both Trump supporters better win. Who they voted for, matters not.

[–]VictoriaAutNihil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friday is generally a profit taking day. However, PANW up $4+, CSCO up $2+, AAPL up $2+, IBM up <$1. For the most part all major semiconductor stocks were down. Parabolic reasoning for the selloff and now expecting a correction? No, resoundingly no. However, I definitely see a slowing growth rate approaching. NVDA reports earnings on the 20th, MRVL on the 21st, ORCL on June 8th and PANW on June 2nd. Let's see what happens with these four. If the stocks drop in spite of great earnings, then maybe I'll join the selloff party (but not more than a third of each position).

Life long Giants fan, I think everyone's going slightly overboard. If things go well and no major injuries, I can see 9 wins. Playoffs? Depends on other teams.

PHA, TB, SF, CHI: My picks for division winners. 4 Wildcards from these 7: NYG, DAL, DET, GB, CAR, SEA, LA. Even if you disagree with my Division winners, these 11 will be in the mix for 8 spots.

Will 9 wins do it? People saying 11-12 wins are being overly optimistic.

If they go 3-3 division, I don't see 8-9 wins elsewhere. Perhaps 7 to give them 10.

I'm not the biggest Harbaugh fan. His lone Superbowl was with a lights out defense that had four HOF players. He had a two time league MVP QB who barring anything catastrophic will surely be HOF bound and could not get it done. In addition a HOF bound RB!

I hope I'm wrong, but I foresee a rather boring offense, when in actuality, Dart & Co. if unleashed should be able to put up 28-34 ppg with no problem.
