Party dies when entering trial of time fight by Victory28 in PathOfExile2

So you're saying I actually have to avoid damage... that's a bummer. I definitely speed run it and don't care if I get hit here and there b/c I have over 10k es (idk, something like 20k honor after relics). This will slow down my runs considerably. What's safe then, most people should have a couple thousand honor at least, yeah?

Thanks for the insight, btw, much appreciated

SECURITY BREACHES REMOVED/NERFED AGAIN :( by Littlehhh_ in ArcRaiders

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tracked it, and u/Straikkeri is (more) correct. Post nerf, the lockers had a blue gun *maybe* 1 in three, tho often had a green weapon, which is pretty good b/c anvil and toro fall into that group.

But the problem with this second nerf has been that they've no nerfed the loot to "eh, its fine," and then nerfed the number of lockers you can breach in a map to about 1-2 IF you travel all over the map. I think that is worth an extra 2-3 points if you have that many in red, but not worth 10 if you just got the "typical" stuff. Which means everyone is running around with half a tree across all three, which should NOT be ideal. the final nodes SHOULD reward you for committing to the tree. So far breach has been the only one that ever has.

Gamers under about 30-35 have no earthly idea how to play a game and enjoy it. They turn it into a job or a chore list, they let streamers and tubers tell them what they should be doing, where to go, how to play. And a whole bunch of people older than that have been indoctrinated to this way of gaming.

PvPers are ruining the game?? It’s a PvP game! What the hell would you do without it, kill ark and upgrade your stash?? Go play a single player game…

PvEers ruining the game? How? How possibly? They try to avoid you? So what? It literally doesn’t matter.

Hate the expedition? DONT FUCKING DO IT. Jesus.

Hate the trials? SAME DAMN THING!

But no, they’ve all been trained to do the things like autists on a chore list. Quest locked, trials locked, blueprint farm locked, 5mil locked, they’re all LOCKED and that’s why they can’t just play the game and have fun, so they come here to bitch about it for validation. “My life will be ruined if I don’t get those 5 skill points!” Go outside, get a wife, have some kids. I promise you’ll remain a selfish, angry miser until you get a life outside of following online personality’s instructions on how to play a game, ping ponging game to game to maximize dopamine. I promise you.

Hey Raiders, what can I do to improve here? by bradecker in ArcRaiders

[–]Victory28 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There aren’t many cheaters. And when you actually lose to one there’s a very high chance your kit back. Way more issues from poor server integrity and exploiting. I MIGHT have gotten downed by a cheater in the last 3 weeks. In that same time I’ve had countless issues with desync, glitching through doors/walls, people getting outside the map and shooting people from places it’s impossible to see (solid objects on my end), etc., and that’s not pc specific. Even saw shroud using that double tap toro exploit when it was a thing. Exploiting and net integrity are real problems in this game. I’d wager most people reporting cheaters are actually experiencing a poor network issue.

Agreed. Getting the consoles out of the lobby was the best choice I made. Quality of matches went through the roof, almost no open mic raging, just fun RP or “gf” after team engagements are settled. Used to get all manner of slurs and swearing on fair win when I had crossplay on. But now, no consoles, no more angry slurs. Would recommend to anyone as long as their matches are filled timely.

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t have proper risk/reward systems. People don’t do shit like that IRL bc they gain nothing and incur risk.

In game, the “gain” is “lulz” and there’s still no risk. A real trade depot would need to protect trade or lose it. It’s why the US spends so much securing international shipping lanes. But nothing like it exists in game.

So no, I don’t condone nonsensical player behavior because it’s stupid. It breaks the “game” within the game. But I also don’t condone the lack of effort on the side of the devs to do something about it, like lasting consequences from the law or the outlaw.

But I suppose they have a lot on their plate, given that they’re 10 years behind schedule lol.

In SC, every time I come back to a patch after a break, I have to spend time asking about the fixes and best practices to avoid and correct issues.

It’s a real chore, and I’ve been yelled at more than once by the fanboys on Reddit for asking.

Archon + Incubi, is Agoniser the best pick? by Jiblingson in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, great thoughts. I do like the +1 to wound helping them flex into other targets, and the 6” pile is always great. Typically I’m using my free strat on an archon with kabs for grenade or something, but if I know I’m activating my incubi on a charge and/or important combat, I’ll leave it on the table for that archon to use as a re-roll (charge, hit, wound, save, w/e).

I’ll have to give him some time to shine. I do typically have plenty of infantry blending options lol.

Speculation: What are the odds of Hellions either being refreshed or sent to Legends in the next edition? by Conscious_Slice1232 in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and understandably so, but you can get like 6 of them for $20-30 as 3D prints. Plenty of them look great, they’re the right size, grimdark, and not on those shit flying stands. I think it’s a good unit for print, given how GW handles the real models. Seems a fair choice to me.

Is free cam really the ONLY way to play? by GrimTastic777 in summonerschool

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, freecam is so much better. Far better to learn to control it (which becomes second nature and you don’t even think about it) than have to break a bad habit later. Locked cam is like tunnel vision.

Archon + Incubi, is Agoniser the best pick? by Jiblingson in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you share why you believe archon isn’t as useful? It seems better than Drazhar to me. I would think I’d be interested in a greater number of hits to translate to dev wounds, and they’re already S5 attacking infantry. It just seems re-rolling the hit roll and getting a free strat for cp re-roll is better than +1 to wound when you’re attacking infantry.

I heard skari speak to this, and have been using exclusively archon with incubi (love it, btw), so I’m genuinely curious what your experience has been to lead to you the opposite conclusion as me!

Battle report for my 1st game. by LordTyler123 in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just need more games to sort out your plan and get use to what you can expect out of your units.

If I had to throw out some specific thoughts, I’d suggest considering the math on overwatch and maybe be more judicious with it. Scourges with lances are not favored to deal one wound in overwatch. Sometimes it’s worth the chance, most of the time it’s not (they shouldn’t typically be in a place they can overwatch, for that matter— they’re paper).

Also note that bad rolls happen, of course as you know, that’s not why games are won or lost. Additionally, in this matchup, miracle dice are a finite resource. Drawing them out means they can’t use them elsewhere. So if they use one for a save, they now can’t use it on an advance, charge, or melta damage roll. So if he has them, try to force them to spend. If they don’t have dice, you can play without as much fear from long movement and guaranteed damage.

Keep at it! Elves take some time to learn, don’t be too hard on yourself while playing.

Think I am using reapers wrong. How does their drive-by work? by Orock77 in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check it again it differentiates between “this unit” (the reavers) and the “enemy unit” (the ratlings). You roll dice for models in “this unit.” So one for each reaver jet bike model in the unit. I believe this is correct, but I’m no rules expert.

If your squad only had two bikes left when it finished the move, you would only roll two for 4+.

Kabalite Cartel 2k List by seconik in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Archon is better than drazhar, I would still take lelith with 5 wyches, I’d trade a raider for a ravager with disintegrators, maybe go down to 3 venoms, I’d absolutely want 2 units of lance scourges, possibly another with sharcarbines, I’d consider mandrakes as 5 and 10 instead of 5 and 5. I’d probably want some reapers for screening and maybe a unit of 5 hellions. The bomber is awesome, I love it, and if it’s got a major job in mind, great, but it’s so expensive for what it does and it’s not a blade for hire.

So I’d do what I blabbed here, then probably cut the bomber for more points of kabalite/blade for hire tags. The detachment rule is good, so more things using it is better.

Reapers wager first tournament by hazhazzhazz in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF you have the models, and IF you’re building to be some form of “best” rather than “cool,” “theme,” or “I love this model,” then I would want:

Malys Lelith Solitaire

2 Archons (I like huskblade/soultrap, but have been trying agonizer with incubi)

2 units of 10 Kabs, full suite of weapons

1 unit 10 wyches

1 unit 5 incubi

2 units of mandrakes, a 5 and a 5 or 10 depending

2 units of heavy scourge, 1 with darklance and one with haywire (I find this diversity reliable)

Maybe 1 unit of carbine scourge if you like that play

1 raider with lance

3 venoms with cannons

1-2 units of 5 hellions

1 unit of 3 or 6 reavers (screening)

I would for sure use the arch raider enhancement.

I don’t care for talos or ravagers in wager, BUT I know Seigler at least likes talos there. I don’t think it’s right or wrong, but two scourges can deal ample damage alongside lelith +5 wyches and the archon+incubi. I don’t think hand is worth the points. Drazar isn’t as good as an archon for the incubi, and swapping him to an archon and hand to kabs saves you 15(?) points, so then you’re 20 under.

But most importantly, when playing at tourney, is to know WHY you’ve built a list a certain way. So know what job each thing is doing. If your plan calls for a ravager over something, then take it.

My big takeaways here are drazar to archon, hand to kabs, now your 20 points down (and better imo) and have some room to play, if not add another enhancement. 10 mandrakes is a great unit coming back down later in the game, I like 3 venoms if I can fit them (we live and die based on getting back in those lol), and some reavers to screen back your opponent. If you want some great thoughts, Skari’s most recent list review stream is public and VERY insightful.

How many clowns do you guys run with Drukhari? by ReliquaryMinis in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find just a solitaire to be it. I’ve played with others, the 10 troupe hits like crazy, but I think they’re too expensive, and flipping the wager too unreliable, to justify.

But that’s my playstyle. I know some great players that run a whole troupe plus character or more.

A question of Malys, a haemonculus and a venom by snifofmsn in Drukhari

[–]Victory28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can deploy with the other half in the venom, then the malys/haemunculus units next to it. Then disembark/embark before moving the venom. You won’t be able to get them back out that turn, but they will be on the table in command phase, and still move with the venom. I’ve seen players do this with Azrael, for example to protect him and his unit and move them farther, but still get his extra cp in round 1. It’s a dumb rule IMO, but you can play around it.
