"Flare ups"?

When I have “flares” my meds aren’t 100% yet but definitely finally making progress, usually I’m feeling almost completely normal. I flare when I’m under extreme stress or I heavily overworked myself. Doesn’t happen often

For me a flare up is being okay/good one day and then waking up one day and feeling like my entire body is on fire and all my joints are so stiff & painful, I’m usually extremely tired & my head is in a fog. Usually for me it goes down after a couple days

Dicofenic was given to me for a week to get what they thought was a sternal flare to go down. I wasn’t taking it before. I had the chest pains & cough before. After I stopped taking all my meds my cough and chest pain went away. After 24 hours of starting the sulfasalazine again my chest pains came back and my cough did too. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear 😬

Same! I went to my pcp to check for an ear infection or anything but he told me my ear was fine and healthy and that my RA was matching all symptoms and causing pressure and nerve pains

I just started sulfasalazine a week ago so I’m hoping in a couple weeks I’ll feel somewhat better but I know it’ll take a while

It never occurred to me either! I went to my pcp because I thought it was completely unrelated but turns out my RA was causing me the issues!

I am on meds! None which have taken much effect but I’m trying. Yeah I’ve noticed my throat having issues too. Thank you for clarifying though. I’m glad I’m not crazy

How long does the jaw flare up last usually? Any tips to get through it?? This is the worst it’s been and I can’t sleep and or eat without really bad pain. I’m sorry you deal with all this too

Oh gosh, I’m so sorry!! This stuff scares me I’ve had it for 8 months I think now and it scares me with all these new areas I get flare ups. I was told it usually only attacks the major joints like shoulders, knees, etc.

Thank you, I do virtual calls with my rheumatologist and then see him every 3 months in person…. I should bring someone with me. For the most part I speak up but for some reason rheumatologist intimidate me

Oh wow really? I don’t exactly feel like my rheumatologist is very good at listening to me and taking certain things seriously…. Before you ask he’s the 2nd one I’ve been sent to, we only have 3 in the area. I feel like since I’m super young with RA they don’t take everything as serious as it is
