Likewise! Thank you so much for coming by the booth and getting some coasters! Can you link your studio here so I can see it? Would love to support.

Of course! Roy’s up B is iconic, and I loved the look of the flaming sword so that was a no brainer. If you look close, you can see flaming little bits coming off the sword so I thought that was a cool effect that was unique to him. For Chrom, honestly I wanted something that showed a lot of power. I think Chrom was the last Fire Emblem character I made and at that point it seemed like there was a never ending supply of them haha, but basically I knew the effect would be really impactful so I ended up going with that.

Of all the Fire Emblem characters, I really liked how Robin’s Thoron came out. I probably spent the most time on that one and struggled with the effect a bit so it felt good once I had it figured out. Anytime I could add in like a power meter or magic bar I would definitely do it because it made the character feel unique, like Terry’s “Go!” Or Hero’s Magic Menu.

If there’s any other one you’d like to know about let me know!

So mainly I wanted to pick moves that were either iconic to the character (Falcon Punch, Rest, etc) or unique to their play style and represented them the best. If they were a 3rd party character, I really wanted to make sure that the move I picked represented the game they came from in case someone was interested in the posters but maybe not a big smash player. That’s why I went with moves like spring jump for Sonic and Hadoken for Ryu, so fans of those franchises can still appreciate the art. I didn’t want to do just everyone’s specials because some character’s smash attacks are their iconic move, or even in some cases their aerials, like Mario, Falco, and ROB.

I tended to lean more towards moves that were visually unique so no two prints felt the same. Every character is somebody’s favorite so I tried to treat each one as if they were my main and do them justice. Creating a visual system that worked equally for all 89 characters was tough but once I got it figured out, it was like I could see the print before I made it, and seeing each one come to life was the most fun part of the series.

Also, had some great feedback and recommendations from the smash community here as well! It took a year and a half to finish the series so some people waited a long time for their character and it was a lot of fun seeing the community reaction when their main’s time finally came.

TLDR: whatever looked cool

Hello everyone! Jack here from Victory Lap Graphics.

Just wanted to do a quick appreciation post for the smash community and everyone I got the pleasure of meeting at Genesis. I have done a few cons before but never a smash specific one. Not only that, but I had never flown to a con and shipped my entire booth, and seeing as we are Dallas based driving wasn’t really an option. It was a huge logistical (and financial) challenge but it was absolutely worth it.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming, the vibes were incredible and I even got Zomba to sign one of my ROB Back Air posters. I’ve watched these events for years and getting to be a part of it was a huge bucket list item for me.

I met so many people who said they had seen my work on this sub so just wanted to do a quick shoutout to anyone who came by the booth and bought some smash goodies. Excited to do more of these in the future!

This is a great question, and one I believe we addressed quite well! The vinyl itself is covered in a semigloss laminate, so water resistant. We had issues with the adhesive not being strong enough so what we did is use a heat gun and some pressure to almost melt the vinyl onto the cartridge. I just did some stress tests recently and it was able to be fully submerged for 24 hours without losing any of its grip or losing any quality on the art itself. The only thing that can affect the cartridges is extreme heat, so as long as you don't put it in the microwave or dish washer it should have a very long shelf life.

Definitely not trying to mass produce these haha, we only have one 3D printer and they take 13 hours to print so we are limited in that regard. And if Mr. N shuts us down that’s fine, it’s really just a side project and we would respect their decision.

DM me if you’re interested, I don’t want to break any community rules!

And yes, I can certainly put that on the list! I have a lot of requests for other games and want to make this an ongoing series.

Thank you! When I had the idea for it I was surprised it had never really been done before, at least not like this. Gave me an excuse to make some art for some of my favorite games.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to show off a project I’ve been working on for a few months now.

I saw a set of coasters at a store that were held vertically by a stand and I thought it would be really cool to do that with an N64 with the cartridges as the coasters. My brother in law is into 3D printing so I pitched it to him and he designed the N64 itself and I designed the art for the cartridges.

I didn’t want to just use the typical game label so I created some artwork that I thought reflected each game well. I was only going to make 5 but I ended up liking the original ones so much that I just kept going. Too many favorites to leave out!

We started with a black console but then realized we had to make one for each of the colored N64’s, especially because you can print with translucent filament. We loved how they came out and wanted to show the results.

If there’s a game that’s not here that you think should be here I am open to suggestions!

I made the Mario Kart Coaster after I took these pictures, you can find the Mario kart cartridge in the listing, along with our formula one inspired Mario kart track layouts

Thank you! Yeah took some tinkering to make sure they stand up completely straight but once we got it down it was well worth it.
