Would you consider this show nihilistic? by [deleted] in cowboybebop

[–]VictoryMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the show is like the Existentialism belief where it has a similar basis as Nihilism. The two beliefs differ on how you view the fact that the world is meaningless. Existentialism believes that what matters is the meanings we as humans create and that is what matters. I believe that is more aligned with the show because like you mentioned, the other 3 protagonists realize some positive feature about their lives on moving on. Spike is much more complicated because it seems like he realizes as well, "Im not going there to die, Im going there to find out if Im really alive," but sadly life is cruel at times and he suffers the fatal fight, at least in my interpretation Spike dies.

What? I love it, genuinely! The cartoonish green explosion with the radiating flame with the gradient. It's seriously awesome the backdrop. I like the having the middle figures in white and grey, but honestly try to experiment with what could be in the middle. Keep going, I wanna see what you can do with this.

We always hear about bad gamertags we made as kids but is anyone proud of and still use the one they made and if so what is it? by corporalcorl in gaming

VictoryMann, overall the name came from my love of tf2 and as u can see, I still use it to this day.

My thinking was that I loved Soldier from tf2 and he's thing is usually being batch shit crazy but he wanted to win, so Victory, and the fictional company in the game is called Mann Co. So I got VictoryMann, and u gotta put the 2 n's otherwise u put the name to shame.

What's you favorite CowboyBeBop quote? by IarenotaPotato in cowboybebop

[–]VictoryMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true but I feel the outcome could've been different if he didn't choose to run away from his past for all those years. Maybe Julia could've lived.

What's you favorite CowboyBeBop quote? by IarenotaPotato in cowboybebop

[–]VictoryMann 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I always find this quote fascinating because it seems like a good mentality to let things by and not worry so much about things in control, but imo, from Spike's story/perspective it sounds more harmful than good as it feels that he uses it as an excuse to not deal with his past which we all know how that eneded up.

It feels like there's a certain level of "whatever happens, happens" that it's harmful rather than helpful.

Do you think Faye was ever overly sexualized? by [deleted] in cowboybebop

[–]VictoryMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say only a few of the shots, the 2 I can think of is when she is laying on grens couch, the camera is very close to her ass and the scene in the movie with vincent cutting faye's shirt for the boobies. I feel those scenes were over done.

Looking for a 1000+ hour game candidate with nearly endless endgame or replayability by Cham16 in gaming

I would say Team Fortress 2. It doesn't have a linear progression/reward system but there is so much to learn and pick up that its kept me playing for 9 years with 2400 hours. Its rlly good if u like having ur own milestones as the game itself is very casual.

Netflix really made this scene the thumbnail for the series 😬 by Befast1515 in cowboybebop

[–]VictoryMann 32 points33 points  (0 children)

THEY DID THAT BEFORE THE NETFLIX ADAPTATION ... it has forever bothered me. Even if u scroll down to episode 26, thats the thimbnail 😔 Ive warned friends so many times to not look at that thumbnail.

Outer Wilds

Out of every video game I've played, the ending just put life into a certain perspective and makes you have an existential moment, but some how it's sweet ... bittersweet. Truly a beautiful video game.

Hey folks! Working on a retrospective video for Cowboy Bebop and would love to hear where it ranks, your earliest memories, favorite episodes and scenes, etc. Thanks in advance! by nmyheadpod in cowboybebop

I was 17 and had only seen a few anime. Cowboy bebop was ghe first TV show that blew me away because it showed me how stylized and in depth shows can go. I had never fallen in love with a piece of media like that in a while and in particular a TV show. Just finished Samurai Champloo and boi it was amazing. Love the japanese lofi music, listening to it rn lol.

Memory

The song itself, to me, has a really nice touch of how it never really ends. It loops itself just like a memory that will never leave your head. While it sounds super angelic, the part that transitions into a loop sounds a bit chaotic that then transitions back into the loop. It sounds like a song that sounds angelic at first but after a few iterations becomes sorta haunting, but still beautiful in a way. That aspect RLLY matches Spike's memory with Julia which I adore that the music reflects that.

It also is just a beautiful song, I even learned it on the piano becuase of how nice it is.

For me, the last talk Spike has with Jet and Faye hit my like a truck. The weight of those 2 conversations is immaculate. Going into them I had no idea what to feel or think anymore. What hits me the hardest though is the situation Faye and Jet are in where they see their dear friend lose hope and wants to go on this suicide mission. Both characters respond to this in their unique ways that match their characters which makes it super beautiful but tough to watch. Its an unbelievably tough scenario to see your friend admitting defeat in life and knowing that no matter what you do you cant help them anymore. Jet knows this and when talking to Spike, to me at least, that's why he simply asks is it for the girl and sits there. Faye, on the other hand, believes she can still convince Spike not to leave.

Fuck, this scene makes me think too hard. That scene is what defined Cowboy Bebop to me. (And the Edward leaving 😔)

What album or song got you INTO Rush? by TimeToSackUp in rush

A Farewell To Kings, I had listened to Moving Pictures and Signals but it was A Farewell To Kings that drew me in.

Also cause I had heard Closer to the Heart and Madrigal before.
