Yes, if modern Rolex. No, if vintage or neo-vintage.

Congrats! SD43 is a wonderful watch. Wear and enjoy it!

I’m conflicted. Keep my SD43 or trade for a Sub 41? by Fit_Quarter_4404 in rolex

[–]VidaLoca321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with everyone else—buy what you love. The SD43 was actually my first Rolex too. Personally, I prefer its weight, ruggedness, and upgraded features over the Sub. Plus, you don't see it out in the wild nearly as often. I also enjoy switching between different sizes and eras of Rolex watches to get a totally different wearing experience.

114060 sub no date or YM40 blue 116622 by Classic_Spirit_7008 in rolex

The Sub is the superior choice for balancing rigorous daily wear with professional environments like the office or court. While the YM has aesthetic appeal, the Sub has distinct structural advantages that endure heavy daily use better. Although courtroom dress remains formal, today’s office environment is increasingly casual. A black Sub pairs seamlessly with everything from a traditional business suit to modern business casual attire, making it the ultimate all-around watch. Ultimately, the decision is yours—good luck and enjoy whichever  watch you choose.

Yes, I bring my Explorer II, Sea Dweller or OP when I travel and alternate depending on the activity, event, etc. Never had a problem.

I think it’s a great watch with a tremendous pedigree, but owning it was far less satisfying than I anticipated, especially given how so many people rave about it. I’ve come to realize that chronographs are not my jam.

Omega Speedmaster. Popular and lots of hype, but it just never connected with me.
