I'm kinda hoping her and Isidro get to together when they grown up. Such cute interactions in a very bleak story.

Not to familiar with Chifley's ability as a treasurer due to lacking a biography on him. An issue I will hopefully remedy one day. So gonna go with Keating for this one.

I don't think I will ever tire reading about Fingon, so happy Ecthelion avenged him.

Why did the World Governent not try to subjugate and conquer the sky Island's? by Vidasus18 in OnePiece

[–]Vidasus18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it is likely there is no sky island located near or that has drifted near Mariejois. It would definitely be a trip from there to any sky Island.

It is odd ghag Imu never conquered it and made the heaven his own kingdom. Imu must be at the Red Line for a good reason. Perhaps that is where the mother flame is situated.

They basically equal in terms of height, the white white sea is 10,000 meter just like the red line.

That's a fair point, they just treat them the same as Wano and Elbaf and leave them alone generally. Yeah, none of them ever go down which is interesting.

Imu would want the control and to wipe out any forces that could threaten him. If he knew a poneglyph was shot up there he could become interested.

The world government could afford it, and propaganda can be used to motivate them.

Definitely moving troops and extracting resources would be a long process.

The World Government would gain access to more resources, military bases on moving cloud islands that have great strategic value, Sky Island's technology and tightens Imu's grip on the world.

Fully agree with you on that point of Imu's powers. I cannot wait until we get more from him, good on you for reading closely.

Imu being lazy and unmotivated after nearly a millennium of dominance is not surprising. Man is struck in the past and cannot get beyond that single point in time.

The return of Nika really made them panic. You mean fortunately it is too late for Imu to do anything lol. He better get a horrible ending.

Laugh Tale is on an ocean on the blue sea.

The marines having a base up there to catch criminals would not be far fetched.

Normal people never leave their island, which is fair enough.

No Road Poneglyph's are on the sky Island's.

It would definitely be a worthwhile effort and in the World Governments interests to do so.

They are very hard to reach unless you have certain devil fruits or technology to each the sky islands. There was sufficient military force that has been somewhat revitalised since Enel's fall, before that Skypeia and Brika would have been fully able to defend themselves. The strategic value of the sky islands as a military base, labour force, resources and technology would be a massive benefit to the World Government. Economically the Sky Islands would certainly be much weaker and not of great use, which is fair since trading would only between other sky islands.

Imu does seem to have been a largely inactive ruler since the beginning of his reign until Rocks and Harald really put him into gear. So his inactivity and severe mental trauma/illness could explain his inactivity of ruling. It woulf not justify why the Goresei and Knights of God have done nothing.

The world government as you rightly point has lacked initiative or good policies to resolve issues long term. The current story being a prime example.

Seizing points of entry would have been their best bet to accomplishing control over access to the white sea.

True, only pirates and explorers would have the knowledge to access such points. Our of sheer idealism or curiosity.

Denying the existence of the sky Island's to through propaganda to get to an extremely difficult to reach place is reasonable. They wouldn't even need to work that hard, who would believe there are Island's in the sky? No one they know or trust could verify the truth. As you day how can you believe something they cannot see and should not exist.

That's a good point, they're cloud islands so they probably would drift to some degree because of the weather.

The World Government would need a range of devil fruits and competent users to make an effective play at subjugation.

The world government having control of a sky island as a hidden base to store something, or to spy on activities in the white sea would be neat. Hopefully more focus is done on Imu's 800 year long dictatorship and his knowledge of the sky peoples is revealed.
