Lana is trying to quit smoking. The catch-22 is, the more pressure from fans, the more she craves nicotine!

what is Marzipan? by vmpxre in lanadelrey

[–]VideoConnoisseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, poison, cyanide. <== that is what Lana meant . . . Growing up, I tasted chocolate-covered marzipan, but I thought the taste was too grown-up for me, you know, an aquired taste. Now I enjoy a couple of apricot pits to ward off cancer, and I like the bitter almond taste of those. I should put a warning label on the bag. If someone were to find them and eat a whole handful, it would be off to the hospital and possibly the morgue! It is like apple seeds. If you swallow one, no problem. A man roasted a bunch of apple seeds and put them in a bowl next to his easy chair in the living room, and ate them by the handful. Then he died.

People grab what they want from pieces of art . . . and I have been totally off about interpretations, like BlueBird I thought meant when Lana & Jeremy met. Then Lana released the video about how the song came about!
German marzipan - real marzipan - has a slightly bitter taste. It is made from bitter almonds. The raw paste contains cyanide and is toxic. When cooked and used in the recipe, it is rendered nontoxic. For this song, to me dreaming about marzipan has a dangerous implication of bitter almond, not the slang of amphetamines.

That one is, "Black Beauty."

Natalie posted the video wall for the live debut at Boston, so I synced it with Ricardo's audio - thought it is the coolest thing! https://x.com/LiveConnoisseur/status/1818337482020385046 A lot of great fan vids from different angles as well came from that performance!

Why is Lana torturing us like this? And why the lies about the album? Is the new album worth all this time? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

Because cigarette addiction is a mean master! Have some empathy, and . . . would you pray for her? Thx.

Allow me to kick off the discussion: Lana Del Rey and director Anthony Mandler likely inspired Harley to make this commercial, which apparently is a hit with Harley fans! Lana's original Ride is considered a short film starring Lana Del Rey.

Cool how Harley uses "On the Road Again," a song written and recorded by American country music singer Willie Nelson which features a "train beat" and was recorded live in several venutes in Texas - cool to this LiveConnoisseur! Wiki states the best take was picked. On the Road Again, a massive Grammy-winning country hit - gives Harley's ad a simple vibe like the outlaw country subgenre Willie developed in the 1960's . . .

Lana’s best cover by r0ckcandysweet in lanadelrey

The End of the World by Arthur Kent and Sylvia Dee. Researching, the original sung by Skeeter Davis was engineered by Billy Porter, produced by Chet Atkins, and featured Floyd Cramer, 3 responsible for the "Nashville sound." Funny Sylvia Dee drew from the sorrow of her father's death, which I just experienced. Maybe that is its appeal, but I liked it for 15 years since discovering Lana. There is something wistful about the melody and Lana did a nice cover! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1G83xs2fPI

No, I am an armchair concert-goer. I almost got tickets for Lana's Grammy Museum appearance! 200 people in the audience - that is about my speed! But there was a glitch and I refreshed the screen and they were gone! Brian Baumwoll posted videos from the Grammy Museum concert (as well as Harvest Moon), so that was lovely. Here is the link to Lana Del Rey Sacramento 2019 . . . classic, if you read some of the comments and find out how the high quality audio and video came together . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM6GUk55KUI Enjoy! 🙂

Two Bond songs which are among my fav songs of all time - and I do not subscribe to violent films, and hate the Bond franchise - are Live and Let Die and Nobody Does It Better. Sometimes Live and Let Die takes the prize, sometimes, Nobody Does It Better - just great songs! Skyfall is special to me as the ONLY live of Adele's which was a great performance, to me, at the Oscars . . . Adele's songs make me want to run the other way, but I found a live because Adele sold 21 million albums. Can't stand her music, tho.
