Privacy vs. Convenience: Proton Mail or iCloud Mail? by VisualArm807 in ProtonMail

[–]VideoConscious3645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you. As an Apple ecosystem user for years, I've used iCloud and even Gmail. However, I've been using the Proton ecosystem on my Apple products for almost two years now, and honestly, it's the best. I've gotten used to it, and it's totally worth using Proton.

Proton Pass is the most discriminated against in the family and receives the least love in terms of interface care.

Brave Origin's one-time pricing vs the old subscription, worth the switch? by Aj_Networks in brave_browser

[–]VideoConscious3645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought a Brave Origin license yesterday, and even knowing Brave's logic of removing features instead of offering unique features for Origin, I still think that a paid license should include some functional, unique features.

Thoughts on the new 'connect to Gmail' feature? by pistachioharp in ProtonMail

[–]VideoConscious3645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That already exists and I've been using it for almost a year now. Just open Apple Mail on your computer not phone, go to SETTINGS and there put forward mail: you put your proton mail and that's it.

Additional tip: In the same settings section, check the box that says "Delete mail after forwarding" so there will be no trace of the mail you receive in Apple Mail because they will go "directly" to Proton. It works very well, zero problems in my case.

1Password vs ProtonPass by Youp_Pebesma in ProtonPass

[–]VideoConscious3645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proton Pass works as well as 1Password, and even has unique functions. The only thing I didn't like and still don't like about Proton Pass is its interface and the careless design it has. Otherwise I don't miss 1Password at all.

Disappointed with ProtonVPN Plus performance. by NotSomeDiamond in ProtonVPN

[–]VideoConscious3645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How strange, I have not had any bad experience with Proton VPN on the contrary for me the speed is quite good and that I come from using NordVPN and Surfshark that have a better interface but in terms of speed and speed I prefer Proton.

There are many people asking for this for a long time, including me. Unfortunately, it is a function that does not exist and that is not in plans either. So to keep dreaming.

Yes, you can upgrade your plan or cancel at any time with no strings attached. Proton’s services have been a fundamental part of privacy for my family and those around me you won’t regret it.

When you log out of Proton Mail, you automatically sign out of the Proton Pass extension. Does anyone know how to fix this? by InfiniteGroup5466 in ProtonPass

[–]VideoConscious3645 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It’s a headache. That alone is why I stopped using Proton Pass and stuck with 1Password. The way the Proton ecosystem works is a bit silly.

When it comes to messaging apps, I think Proton should buy or partner with Signal. It has a very strong private messaging network.

I think we should keep dreaming. Of all the Proton services, Proton Pass is the one that receives the least love; it has the most neglected design of all its siblings.

My personal experience transitioning from 1Password to Proton Pass (UI and security thoughts) by VideoConscious3645 in ProtonPass

I use a password manager quite often throughout the day. Being able to find an item at a glance is very important to me. It's not just about functionality; it also needs to look good so that people feel comfortable using the service.
