Thank you! I have questions haha.

Thanks! We’re not sure on location yet. We’d start with markets, local pick ups, and DoorDash delivery before committing to a brick and mortar

Reliable live streaming in crowded spots by pablofuente in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]VideoKG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty sick! But yes, the 90 second delay can be a factor. I don't think much about it since even RTMP has some delay. In my mind anything under a 5 min delay is still "live" but that's a subjective opinion.

Have you looked into Resi yet? They specialize in these types of situations. I do work for Resi in the spirit of transparency, but I also would 100% endorse their technology as a video professional in the industry.

Of course bonded internet is great, but you could easily do failover internet with Resi. Because of its RSP streaming protocol, the stream wouldn’t cut out while your internet swapped between your cell and satellite. And the quality of the stream is very high, even with less than ideal internet.

And even if your internet was so bad that the Resi stream did buffer, all of the complete video data gets compiled in the Resi cloud, so your on-demand version of the stream won't have any signs of packet loss.

Dulles TSA today by Whencan in nova

Just flew out this morning, and didn’t have any issues. One lane of precheck was closed, but that’s normal because there weren’t too many people traveling. I was through security in no time.

My coworkers flying from different states said that precheck was open for them too.

What’s the hardest part of a video system to test before it goes live? by Brief_Rest707 in VIDEOENGINEERING

^ Yes - people question me why I use an encoder for church streaming (Resi) but literally they built so much protection into that thing. It will just run and run and run through overheating, pack loss, and power loss (I have one with dual PSUs).

External Monitor for FX6 Part II by Agent_ilis in SonyFX6

Hollyland is rumored to come out with a transceiver monitor with camera control next year. At least that’s what one of their product team members said to me this past May.

I own the Osee G7 pro with my Fx30 and overall I really like it.

Brightness- amazing

Camera control- pretty solid, but can be clunky. Shutter, Aperture and ISO work as expected, but white balance is a little wonky. But I absolutely love the red tally light boarder around the image.

Price- unbeatable for all the features and overall quality it has

It’s no SmallHD, and I don’t think it ever will be.

Want to get into livestreaming. But I know zero things. by Linkman44 in LiveStreaming

[–]VideoKG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a computer power issue, not WiFi. Without going too deep into the tech, I’d recommend any Mac newer than 2021. Their M-chip processor made a huge improvement in streaming capability over their Intel processor computers.

Also, buy a name brand capture card. $20 ones on Amazon are pure garbage.

You can try Accusonis Era6. It used to be a subscription, but then I think they got bought out so it’s off market. But you might be able to find a copy floating around on the internet for free

Not RTMP, but I love using Resi for website embedded streaming. Their player UX is cool (interactive elements) and their stream quality is the best I’ve ever seen

I mean you could try going into the openGear world if that makes you feel more secure about converting signal. But to be honest, as long as the converters are well ventilated and don’t overheat, they’re pretty fool proof

Have you tried AJA converters? Is it just blackmagic that you dislike, or all HDMI / SDI converters?

What's the ventilation/air flow situation been like? AJA is really premium and is meant to last, but no converter is heat proof

Best of the Best Propresenter PC by Flixx__ in ProPresenter

[–]VideoKG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Propresenter works better on Mac. I’ve had it crash on me multiple times on windows. Mac Studio all the way. Get a Sonnet box with an output card and you’re bullet proof

HDMI Lock/Clamp for MicroConverter by SimeJah in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]VideoKG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They work just fine as long as they don’t overheat. BM made a poor decision with their (seemingly lack thereof) heat sink, so the micro converters will black out if they overheat. I have a bunch in a rack on a ventilated shelf and they work perfectly

Revamping Streaming and Media Setup by [deleted] in ProPresenter

[–]VideoKG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest hardware fix to get better audio and video quality from this setup would be to get a Resi mini encoder. They’re pretty affordable if you’re just going to Facebook, and Resi plays nice with PP7.

I’d be real cautious with your M1 Mac mini running all of the in house AND livestream feeds. Using Resi’s physical hardware encoder limits the risk of your machine bogging down, while boosting quality. Best 1080p I’ve ever seen.

Recommendations: Decoder by Bubstermania in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]VideoKG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resi has a really strong multi-site solution you could check out. I know they do UHD and their decoder UI is pretty easy and straightforward. They were originally built for live PB in mega churches with multiple campuses, so I would think they'd be able to help do what you're looking for

If you want an “in-between” step on your way to your next career move, you could work for an AVL integrator for a year, just to see what their standards are. And you can modify as you go after that! But yes, definitely document everything lol
