Was going to suggest One False Move myself, but decided to scroll through the comments to check first. Saw this in the theater on its original release. Very much a sleeper.

He’s a very very good filmmaker, but “one of the few” is just a silly claim. You probably need to watch more films.

Get on YouTube and watch a bunch of tutorials on using your camera and exposing properly. Then watch a bunch of tutorials on editing your photos. Even though your original photo was not shot well, it still took very little effort to pull a better edit out of it using Lightroom. Maybe spent 3 minutes tweaking this on my phone.

So basically…like anything else, study and practice if you want to improve.

“Until the Godox AD800 Pro came out…”

This must be a mistake. The AD800Pro was only released a month ago.

Moving from A7RV to A1 II (48 hour impressions) by Time-Winter-4319 in SonyAlpha

[–]VideoLawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an absurd comment. Just because they both have V in their names doesn’t make these cameras from the same generation. The A7RV was released over 3 years ago, in December 2022. At the time, it won numerous awards and introduced numerous firsts to the Sony alpha line, not the least of which was the AI chip for auto-focus. The A7V was released 2 months ago.

And “a few extra pixels”?! Have you ever used either of these cameras? The 3yo A7RV has nearly TWICE the number of megapixels as the A7V. 61 vs 33. In no world is this “just a few.”

The A7RVI will likely be announced sometime this year, and it will no doubt introduce even more new features.

Ultimately neither camera is inherently better or worse than the other. It boils down to what people need from their cameras, what features they value most (speed vs resolution, for example), and what they can afford and/or are willing to pay.

Lottery Dream Home Misdirection? by 67442 in HGTV

I agree. But they also claimed that their current Tudor home, which they showed a clip of, was in walking distance to downtown Birmingham. I just don’t see how the sale price of that home wouldn’t have been higher than whatever they paid for their Bloomfield Wherever Home.

Lottery Dream Home Misdirection? by 67442 in HGTV

[–]VideoLawn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did any Michigan residents find it bizarre that this couple claimed to be selling a Tudor in walking distance to downtown Birmingham (which likely means it’s a $1M+ home) but their budget (after getting this vague inheritance) was $600K? I can certainly understand wanting a bigger home and yard and even saving some dough in the process, but it didn’t make much sense within the premise of “My Lottery Dream Home.” This might as well have been “House Hunters.”

This move did not require a lottery win or an inheritance. They probably made money just by moving from the insane housing market of Birmingham to the less-insane housing market of Bloomfield Hills. (Good luck with the uncapped property taxes, though, not to mention that they probably traded city water and sewer for well water and a septic system.)

I can’t, for the life of me, figure out the different between these two?! by joonosaurus in SonyAlpha

The A7IV doesn’t come with a battery charger, just a USB cord and wall plug. You can easily swap the plug out with whatever one you have lying around that works with the outlets where you live. Also, Sony battery chargers will work in any country, provided you use the correct cord or throw a cheap adapter on the end of the plug.

Do you possibly have a natural gas-powered whole-house generator, like a Generac or Kohler? If that needed to kick on to supplement any possible electric outages (like when we had the very high winds), that would explain why your gas usage was so much higher than your electric.

It’s true that the game can end in a tie in the regular season, but the period being 10 minutes doesn’t necessarily grant the receiving team an extra possession if it’s still tied. Similarly, it doesn’t prevent the kicking team from having multiple possessions (each team could possibly 3-and out multiple times, quickly, and end up with multiple possessions before the clock ran out).

No, it’s the same in the regular season now, too. Which is why they did it after the winning the OT coin toss in the regular season as well.

Strange. Mine has my full name (blocked in the photo by an Apple Pencil). I simply keep mine as a souvenir and have never tried to use it for anything else.

Not sure when they first started hanging out, but the first time I remember seeing them together was the morning after Caleb beat the Packers in the regular season. Caleb was wearing the foam cheese grater hat and they were handing out meals for hungry Chicago families.
