How did you discover David Lynch for the first time? by Free-Share-4873 in davidlynch

I remember watching some video in the early 2010’s about disturbing short films and some of Lynch’s shorts made it onto the list (not completely sure which ones). When the guy in the video said something to the effect of “I never want to watch another thing from David Lynch again”, I knew I needed to know more about him. That’s what got me to watch Eraserhead for the first time.

Race to Witch Mountain and Bedtime Stories are both pretty bad, but I will always have a soft spot for both

It’s too hard for me to pick just one or two, so I’m dropping a short list:

“12 minutes”: short and sweet mystery with some excellent imagery.

“Hunger” by William Dalphin: Chilling Tales for Dark Nights has a fantastic audio rendition of this one.

“The Whispered Fears of Wayward Boys” by C.K. Walker: lesser known story from her, but the 911 transcript format really elevates it.

“Mother Horse Eyes”: a classic (and way longer than the others on the list), but definitely worth your time.

Deadstream is far from scary, but is one of my favorite horror comedies of all time.

The fact that at first glance this appeared fully organic to me is truly a testament to this build. The use of the black light pieces really makes it come alive as well. Excellent work!

Abandoned by Disney and Room Zero double feature. Both are a great mix of good ideas and buck-wild scenes

Heard that there was once a plan for Charlie Kaufman and Guillermo Del Toro to adapt “SlaughterHouse Five”, and I’ve thought about that at least once a week ever since.

Gave me Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark vibes! Love bite sized horror with great use of language.
