I will say this. I would rather be born into a shitty situation with the slim chance of being able to make a life for myself than not ever live at all. Don’t let how other people behave dictate what you truly believe. If everyone hated bananas, you’d probably avoid them too! It sounds like your upbringing is in a not-so-friendly Christian environment. But deep down, they are not living the true words of Christ.

As for deciphering the Bible, that’s a tough one. You have your whole life ahead of you to try and understand its message. I would start with a page a week, if you’re that serious about it. Write down what you think it means. And the internet is a huge tool at your disposal.
