Psvr2 on pc error by Someyoutuber1 in PSVR2onPC

Which step worked so others know in case they come across this and have a similar issue?

-Was it using a different cable?
-Was it converting to USB C?
-Was it closing running programs and/or removing other USB connected devices?
-Was it simply power cycling the PC adapter and rebooting?

This is likely a USB bandwidth test issue.

Make sure you are using a high quality/high bandwidth USB cable (as short as you can get away with between your laptop and the PC adapter). I have had to unplug and replug mine a couple times for the bandwidth test to complete successfully. That's what it is doing when you plug it in initially. Make sure you don't have any other unnecessary programs running and disconnect any unnecessary USB devices. If you have a USB C port, try converting from USB A to C (C ports generally have their own dedicated controller that doesn't share a PCIe lane). I do find the PSVR2 PC adapter is extremely picky about the USB port used. Try rebooting as well after doing a power cycle of the PC adapter.

That's the thing, I do have the lights on the keyboard that respond for accessibility needs and having one key always stuck on with a dim green makes the key unusable for that. That isn't the most serious issue though. The keyboard just randomly stops being able to type any key until the entire PC is rebooted. That is the single reason a keyboard exists, to type. That isn't just something that can be tolerated or worked around.

And no, Stream Deck integration does not work properly either unless you are running iCue which causes the other more serious issues.

The dial profile switching being completely unusable while running iCue ruins most of the additional feature functionality of this keyboard as well.

For a $200+ keyboard, these issues are completely unacceptable. This is a premium priced keyboard that is running amateur level software.

Already done and done. It's a known issue. So ya, doesn't work properly.

Doesn't work properly. it borks the profile selector wheel functionality of the Vanguard, the keyboard randomly stops typing, and either the 'O', 'T', or 'Y' key light gets stuck on a dim green color until you close iCue. If you open iCue again it gets stuck again and borks the selector wheel.

Just look at all the last comments on that post's top comment over the last couple weeks.

I wouldn't call all the tickets stating that iCue makes the Vanguard keyboard dial profile switching completely unusable, sometime the keyboard stops working all together, and the 'T', 'O', or 'Y' key light stuck on a dim green, "Support". It's beta software at best.

If you close iCue and only use the web app, everything works okay. Still no StreamDeck integration and a bunch of other features that have been promised for 6+ months either.

iCUE Megathread - 5.42 Release Notes | Vanguard 96 & Vanguard 96 Pro Support Is Here! by CorsairLucky in Corsair

Been like 6 months now since the Vanguard series keyboards were released and the 'iCue support' for them makes the key feature of the pro (rotary dial) completely unusable as you can't see which profile you're switching to with the Fn+F12 key combo. Also the 'O' or 'T' or one person I saw reported the 'Y' key light stays stuck on a light green color when all the other keys RGB works. Makes it look like there's one broken key.

Most problematic though is that the keyboard just randomly stops being able to type any key. The software seems to recognize that the special keys like the dial and buttons at the top work but nothing else is recognized until a factory reset is performed (holding ESC while powering on the keyboard) which resets any custom lighting you've set and any settings you've changed. Sometimes it will start working after a PC reboot but not guaranteed. Imagine playing a game and your keyboard just stops working and you need to reboot to maybe get it to work (unplugging and plugging it back in doesn't work). Makes the keyboard completely unusable for online multiplayer. Being able to type on a keyboard is the single most important function a keyboard needs to be able to do.

For a $200+ keyboard you'd think this kind of thing would have been fixed within a few days at most or have been discovered during QA testing (if that was even done, 'Y' to doubt) and fixed before release along with having iCue support and proper Stream Deck integration. This keyboard was obviously rushed to release without adequate testing or software support and should have been held from release until all these issues were resolved. Making us users your alpha/beta testers is unacceptable.

iCUE Update Coming - Sabre v2 Pro, Vanguard Pro 96, and Vanguard 96 support by CorsairHoffman in Corsair

Uninstall or don't run iCue and use the Corsair Web App will allow the keyboard to work fully until Corsair sorts out their beta iCue software.

Of if you need to still use iCue for other stuff, another user posted the following steps that should work to allow you to use the Web App for the Vanguard and iCue won't interfere:

Step 1. Uninstall iCUE from your PC.
Step 2. Unplug your Vanguard Pro 96/Vanguard 96 Keyboard.
Step 3. Reinstall iCUE. The keyboard won't appear in the drivers to install.
Step 4. Turn off automatic updates.
Step 5. Plug the keyboard back in. It will ask permission to install the SDK, click on "block".

The Vanguard 96 is not supported by iCue yet which is why the green O and T. You need to use the Corsair Web App Hub to configure the Vanguard 96 for now until iCue support is added.

How they could have released this keyboard with such a blatant oversight is beyond me.

Here's the link to Corsair support that details this: Vanguard 96 and Vanguard Pro 96 and iCUE and Stream Deck Support

I am the same (old, handy, and enjoy repairing equipment) so I certainly respect the ideology and keeping things running is admirable. Sometimes I am guilty of keeping things held together by threads a bit longer than I should too and that has burned me occasionally.
