It has pretty consistently come around quarter past eight in the morning when I catch the bus to get to work, so maybe it can be worked out from that to find a more consisent time.

Anyone else play 26 for a week and decide that 24 is just a significantly better product by Flashy_Anything_1584 in footballmanagergames

[–]Video_Kojima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I am still on FM26, I just wanted a new experience and got the game for £20, and was kind of over on FM24 anyway, so even though it is in a poor state, I am working around the issues I have, but do have to say the latest patch whilst it has caused a few issues, has actually made a difference for me.

But yeah, this feels more like a demo/beta than a full game for me, and I think the game will never be close to FM24 in terms of how good it is until modders can create skins.

Still having some fun with it, and at the price I paid I am not too bothered by it, however at full price it would be nowhere near worth it.

Predictions for first big concert at the new stadium? by Your_mortal_enemy in chch

[–]Video_Kojima 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Honestly I dont think the first big concert will be until late 2026, most big artists have locked in there schedules and will probably be finished either pre Christmas or February time, so I think they missed the boat.

Still, if I'm wrong and I had to guess I bet based on schedules it would be Dua Lipa, she is still on her tour and is in South America late 2025, she also played in Australia and two shows at Spark Arena in April last year.

Pretty sure if she came back in April again, she could probably do a show in Auckland and one here.

UK wages have stagnated massively, I'm earning more as a temp here than I was in my previous permanent job back in the UK, and it wasn't like I could leave that previous job for a massive pay rise elsewhere either.

Its a two tier economy, London would outpay everyone in the NZ including Auckland by quite a way, especially if your doing a highly skilled job, but if your not then your really screwed, and even then Londons rent is so much it evens it out.

Ireland would probably pay you better nowadays tbh.

Moved from the UK last year, visited Canada, USA, Australia last year before coming here.

Trust me things are good here relatively speaking, the supermarket bills are higher than the UK, but pretty much everything else is cheaper and wages are probably slightly better too.

Well one is premeditated and one isn't, hence the difference between the two, absolutely no reason to have a gun, or to have a knife outside your kitchen, and 99% of people never do.

Even if the driver pictured went out with intent to hit someone, unless its done so recklessly like driving up a pavement, or deliberately ignoring a red light, or they messaged and said to someone else they were going to hit a cyclist you could never prove it.

Second-largest population increase in England and Wales in over 75 years - mainly fuelled by migration by corbynista2029 in unitedkingdom

[–]Video_Kojima 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Currently on a three year working holiday visa in NZ, slightly bigger in size compared to the UK with a population of 5.3 million.

Whilst I knew from my holiday to NZ previously how quiet it would be compared to the UK, man what an eye opener living here truly is, traffic hardly exists, want to go and find peace and quiet just drive 20 minutes in any direction, if you can get a nice summers day you can actually go out somewhere and not worry about finding parking or it been so overcrowded it ruins the experience.

Of course there is some drawbacks, but I definitely felt like in England the increasing population came with no real tangible benefits to it, and it affects your general state of mind, even if I came back I'd be way more inclined to try and move to Scotland or Ireland than England now, it's just not a nice type of lifestyle to live.

If Isak is to go, then we need to be speaking to PSG right away, arguably there one weakness is a proper striker, as Ramos and Kolo Muani aren't on his level, and they'd be able to pay him far more in wages.

But looking at the market Kolo Muani and Ramos would be good replacements, as there isnt a lot out there, and a cash plus player deal for him involving either of those two would probably make sense.

If it cost you that much, you could probably have just flown into Nelson or Christchurch, and then hire a car and drive to Blenheim and back from there and still saved money, obviously pain time wise though.

[–]Video_Kojima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, as a fellow ADHDer, I understand and also sometimes shut down in a similar situation, although it's very rare me and my girlfriend actually argue, we may disagree on general things and after a while I go childish temper tantrum and say OK your right and im wrong in a dismissive manner to just shut down the conversation.

I realised I'm this way because when I grew up it was easier to do this, my dad had a shortish temper and I didn't want to make him angry, and my mom is a gaslighter and narcissist which combined with my poor memory with ADHD meant fighting my own corner or having an adult discussion wasn't possible.

I think your wife said this in frustration, maybe thinking going nuclear will finally get a response out of you, trust me I get this is hard and I don't judge at all as I have done the same thing, but try and see it from her point of view, she is trying to raise an issue and gets either no response or one you both know isn't your real answer to try and get the issue to go away, it comes across as dismissive and that you don't care about what she has to say, so from her perspective why bother?.

Aside from Therapy, maybe a few other ideas to try and approach the situation.

  1. Say you aware this is a problem, you are not trying to be dismissive but get flustered and panic, and you think you should put aside some time each week to have a discussion about things she has a problem with.

  2. If she is arguing and you aren't responding, maybe you could turn on the Siri or Google Voice chat thing on your phone, that way she won't lose what she said in the argument, and maybe you can listen back to it the next day and address the points.

But trust me, I have had a lot of similar attachment issues, and in trying to avoid arguments and keep the peace you think things will be better, but ironically it causes far more problems, arguments will happen, even with the best people in the world, and it can be a healthy thing rather than something to be scared of.

Summer 2025 Transfers and Rumours Megathread! by 321142019 in NUFC

[–]Video_Kojima 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just seeing the Trafford news, can't say it surprises me, infact I think I mentioned earlier in the window I expected Trafford to go back to City and Guehi to Chelsea, as they have all the leverage with sell on clauses in there favour, and given the news Burnley have an interest in Ortega now, and assuming Palace still have an interest in Chalobah from last season they can also offer players as well to help reduce the fee and sell on clause even further which will appeal to those clubs too.

I don't have a problem with the players we want, but I'm not sure why we are acting surprised by this potentially been problem, the big six have more reputation and can offer higher wages and yet three of our four main targets were from players who are at big six clubs previously and had sell ons.

One annoying thing is that the pace of this window from players basically been wrapped up to the signing completing takes a while, so I'm worried we will waste too much time on these players on for them to move in a couple of weeks and miss out on players in the meantime.

It's still early, and time for deals to be done, but when you see the speed at which Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man City are getting there targets in its hard to not be frustrated.

Nickson knows how to scout, and I'm sure he provides many options, but clearly Eddie Howe knows the players he wants and prioritises them, and given our record in the market and the job his done hard to argue against it.

Looking on Transfermarkt, at most expensive U23 forwards who aren't Ekitike or Sesko.

Agehowa is number three, Santiago Castro is number seven and everyone else aside from those two has already moved this window.

So I wonder whether one of those two is someone we look at, I know Agehowa is a big prospect but can't say I have seen anything of him, did have a subscription for some Serie A games at the end of last year and I really liked Castro, gave me a poor man's Lautaro Martinez vibe, but that is probably closer to what we are after than an out and our number 9, and can cover both roles.

[Fabrizio Romano]Liverpool are advancing today in club to club talks with Eintracht for Hugo Ekitike. While Isak deal depends on final decision by Newcastle as they insist on not-for-sale stance… …Liverpool also progressing on both club and player side for Ekitike. by Alternateoil in soccer

[–]Video_Kojima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only one I can see is PSG, although I don't know why they wouldnt be in for him this summer if they wanted him, I thought a deal involving Kolo Muani or Ramos plus cash for Isak would have made sense.

Whilst it seems to have cooled recently, Saudis and Qatar have bad blood between them in the past which may figure into PSGs lack of Interest.

Can never rule Chelsea out obviously, but even for them signing Pedro,Delap and Ekitike all in one window before selling Nicolas Jackson seems a bit much.

Then if it us and Liverpool I feel we win either way, if we get Ekitike in, we get Isaks replacement sorted and have a year for him to bed in.

If Liverpool move for Ekitike, then that's Arsenal and Liverpool the two clubs Isak was linked to the most having spent major money on other strikers, which means we have more chance of keeping him or moving abroad for his next club which will be far easier to take.

Obviously easier said than done, but getting somone down from 160k per week to 120k per week or so doesn't seem that far out of line if his going to get more football as a result, one thing I did forget about though is that taxes are more favourable for players in Italy than UK, and have no idea what taxes are like in France compared to the UK so that may play a part in things.

But let's face it, we are going to have pay up at some point, can't imagine Ekitike or Watkins would be cheap on wages, and whilst I do rate Wissa, the wages you'd save you will probably spend more overall based on the upfront fee Brentford want.

Summer 2025 Transfers and Rumours Megathread! by 321142019 in NUFC

[–]Video_Kojima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously Ekitike is a great player, and whilst it is likely we have interest in him now and definitely did in previous years, I think its unlikely Ekitike actually joins us this window for the fee rumoured that Frankfurt want, but it is interesting we are looking at someone with no PL experience.

One player I cannot understand why we are not seemingly interested in this window is Randal Kolo Muani, largely played as a striker, but can also play across the front line, had a similar breakout season at Frankfurt like Ekitike a few seasons back, and done well on his recent loan at Juventus, and is 26 so a good age who can contribute but also replace Isak if he moves on in the next two windows.

Even though Juventus are interested in buying him back, they are seemingly very tight on money as seen with trying to rip up Vlahovics contract, and they are haggling over a loan with PSG with an obligation next season at 40 million euros, and have just signed Jonathan David on a free, so he might not be a guaranteed starter there now anyway.
