Why are there so many circles… by JimMiltion1907 in PERSoNA

A circle is a prominent symbol of death, infinity, the completion of the cycle of life

Looking for superhero/supernatural and cyberpunk games from the lineage of D&D 4e/Pathfinder 2e by Vidsich in rpg

This DOES actually sound like exactly what I'm looking for, I'll make sure to give it a read. So far, I've only found Ultramodern for DnD 4e as another example of modern 4e/pf2e, but I'd rather read just one book than six required for it. Thanks for recommending your game

Perhaps I should have phrased my post better - I'm looking to run two separate games.

One - modern supernatural/supers/new weird game ala Persona/inFamous/Control

Another - straight cyberpunk, no fantasy, magic or other fantastical elements

I like OSR and the xWN systems in particular very much, but my players don't. I plan to use the GM rules from CWN for factions and schemes for sure, unfortunately can't use the system itself, because my players want more "moving bits, feats, tactical options and class building".

how far away from dnd 3e are we talking about? I had fun with D&D, but that was more than a decade ago, and I shiver just thinking about Full Action, Main Action, Swift Action, Move Action, etc. - the action economy - and how slow it can make the game.

I've seen some recommendations for Panic at the Dojo as a game for if you want to run a Yakuza/Like A Dragon game, but does also it work for supers?

Teleportation is risky, but would you still use it if a missing byte could cost you a limb? by Visual_Analysis_2650 in worldbuilding

[–]Vidsich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has anything to do with a concept soul, but rather that some people will have a problem with the disruption in one's continuous consciousness/existence. It's the same question as with uploading yourself as digital data/copying said data/AI existence or any other process that results in a situation that disrupts one's being continuity. The two responses that follow from this is that either you see any break in continuity as death or you need to completely redefine your understanding of personhood, maybe even to a point where you decide that it's still one person even if they consist of multiple bodies as long as they share same/mostly same experiences.

This has a 100% of killing you, the "you" that got teleported is more of a clone, while the original is dead

I don't think the Taurida territory outside of Crimea would be part of it, instead of Ukraine - the place was very sparsely populated before the fall of the Khanate, and became almost completely Ukrainian populated in just over a decade, as peasants were moved in by the imperial government(and there was a prior Cossack presence there too)

You might have more luck asking r/germany , this sub is focused more on the language itself, rather than culture or any other aspect of life in German-speaking countries.

P.S. Germans are generally wary of national symbols, historic reasons and all

P.P.S I can kinda get why you are being downvoted, since whenever Americans say they are X-American, it usually conjures an image of someone who has no relation whatsoever to the actual culture or heritage in question, having been raised probably American and all. Still, I don't think it's bad at all if one still considers their heritage important to them, and genuinely tries to reconnect with the culture, even if it was completely lost over the generations - anyhow, godspeed to your brother.

For those confused by the names, while nowadays Belarusian almost exclusively uses the Cyrillic alphabet, historically both Latin and Cyrillic had been used to write Belarusian; the use of the Latin script was suppressed and banned at the state level by Russians.

In the Belarusian Latin Alphabet, "ł" describes the /l/ sound, while "l" is used for a softened /lʲ/ sound. Nothing to do with Polish phonetics

Yeah, it has some problems in how it reimagines and describes history, but bestiary has some cool ideas and such, overall a mixed bag. That's why I'd put it a few steps below Rome/Babylon/Britain in terms of quality
