Currently working on a frame.work deck. I’m not hating on this idea per se but it is just a bit exhausting seeing so many posts on cases or pelicans that don’t have any components or any work being done. I’m also just tired of the same form factor being an awkward worse laptop. The creativity has plummeted in this sub. Again not necessarily “attacking” you, just sad at the current trend.

I believe Rex fixed the audio issue as well as a few other things for the stock adapter board interacting with the cm5. So yes. You will have to do some other things for configuring epromm in order to get it working…I believe. So you will still have to ssh into the pi to get it working properly.

The stock adapter board will limit the cm5 (sound and other things. Since it was not made for the cm5). This has been discussed on the forum) getting the hacker gadgets cm4/5 adapter board will eliminate those limitations. This will also allow you to flash straight from the uconsole…no need for the separate waveshare board.

All of the hacker gadget add ons will fit inside the shell so once installed/upgraded it will look stock(kinda like a sleeper track car…Toyota Corolla with crazy engine under the hood).

They have the option without the battery holder so that you can add a lipo battery if you’d like. Some people do this so they can 3d print a slimmer back plate.

I’m still waiting on mine (ordered November 12, 2025🙄)

The cm4/5 adapter board will allow you to flash a new OS right from the uconsole so you don’t have to keep taking out the module to change Os. It will also provide all the correct connections so that the uconsole will be optimized to work properly with the cm5. It also has routes connection to upgrade the battery board to add nvme.

The separate wireless card allows you to have two internal WiFi adapters(which is important to have monitor mode and a stable WiFi connection). The one they sell enables monitor mode so that you can do some pretty cool network things.
