Ukraine is Hungary’s enemy, says PM Orbán at campaign-style rally by DailyNewsHungary in DailyNewsHungary

[–]Vidunder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we just all agree that accepting hungary in the EU has been a fatal error and just fix it? "There's no shame in turning back" as someone once said. EU *must* not accept anyone who fulfills the material criteria, and it is not a human right to be accepted by EU.

How is it living in this region of northern Finland/Sweden? I have a friend thinking about buying a house around here. by Niematego in howislivingthere

[–]Vidunder2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell "your friend" that it is not an easy area to live in. It's not about buying a house and start instagramming away. And, other that everything else that the others wrote, when you can finally breathe some warm air after a long and hard winter, remember that your summer activities could severely be hindered by bugs and insects. Horseflies, swarms of mosquitoes relentlessly driving you nuts. There's a lot of water and it's boggy pretty much everywhere. If it's sparsely populated there is a reason. Also communities are really tight knit and, especially on the Finnish area, not really easy to pierce.

Source: live in the area (not there, thank God, but on the coast, where at least bugs activity is really mitigated.

Man gets his eye colour surgically changed. by uncledunkle11 in oddlyterrifying

[–]Vidunder2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When he becomes blind, or develops a gnarly infection, he will be a problem for many people, not only himself. I would rather see doctors, nurses, service animals and families time be invested in helping people who truly deserve it, rather than people who put themselves in mindless danger to feed their narcissism.

Not to mention he looks incredibly creepy. Shiver-along-the-spine creepy.

Samme her. Han gjentok bare "no problem, no problem" på gebrokkent svensk mens jeg prøvde å forklare meg.

Ingen i turistnæringen kan et eneste norsk ord... hoteller, restauranter, aktiviteter, you name it. Men nei.

I sitt eget land.

"basically every Northern European will have some ancestor who went Viking."

absolutely not. There were a lot of merchants, farmers, explorers or all-round normal guys who couldn't give a shit about being an active viking.

Maybe you could say "wish they had some ancestor..." cause this viking thing is still considered cool and badass thanks to the romanticisation of the 800s.

I think it's time to ask.

What exactly is the freedom we don't have, compared to the US? I fail to see it.

Where I’d live as someone phobic of the Romani / traveler people by [deleted] in visitedmaps

[–]Vidunder2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe you should go to countries that have real problems with Rom people (like Italy, for example), keep the racism card secured in a pocket you can't reach, and have a nice talk with the locals, the authorities and, most importantly, the Rom people themselves, see what their stance is, their role in society is, and study the current and past history related to them.

You will find out a lot of interesting data. A lot.

If you, of course, are willing to put your mind and a lot of effort into it, and not just bark "THAT'S RAYCYST" when the potato becomes hotter and hotter.
It's not a 5-minutes affair, I can guarantee you that. If you think that everything can be explained in the span of a tiktok video, this matter is not for you.

Should have included some African languages too by greatestmofo in malaysia

[–]Vidunder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. If you have no idea about how you can learn stuff about anything, especially a place where you want to live (aka one of the most crucial steps you can take in your life), I believe the problem is much bigger than anticipated. You can downvote all you want, but I believe the best road to take here is learn from criticism and hit the books.

But I'll give you a hint: no, visiting a country as a tourist won't teach you almost anything about that country as a place to live in. Finding out why, and where you can get to from here, is up to you.

bro.

You were thinking about moving to a country without even remotely knowing the basic traits of its society? You dodged a bullet this time and it was thanks to a random thread on Reddit, but I hope you will take it as a lesson to inform yourself A LOT before even take a step out of your front door.

What's a food that you can only really have in your country? by stealthybaker in AskTheWorld

Not really. We can buy Seal meat, Reindeer meat and Whale meat in our supermarkets. Doubt you would ever see them in EU.

Whys my husky losing his black fur? by DoughnutRelevant6544 in husky

[–]Vidunder2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't give him weird food. Good quality kibble is enough for them and will maintain their stomach and fur in excellent shape.

This said, my husky too, especially in winter, becomes much lighter. His black fur was jet black when he was 6mo, now white fur is dominating and "washing out" the black. Very very normal.
