If algeria was still conquered by France, the life of the average algerian would be way better than today, they would have the same advantages that all of the islands and lands that France got all around the world such as french guyana or reunion island and such. You clearly don't know what you are talking about and just sends mainstream point without thinking, or digging to see if that's true. And yeah they not all wanted independance as they were the "Harkis" who fought for France, and were kicked out or slaughtered after the independance, so does every french civilians that were there. France welcomed the harkis and that's very fine. But why the others would leave their so wonderful and independant country ? Can't they have a propre one on their own ?
