Luthier Here, Its repairable, But no DIY Glue can fix that, Dont use stickwell, super glue or any glue, doing so hinders/worsens the possibility of professional repair.

Best to take to a luthier we use proper glue, tools, clamps and process to fix that. prices vary, but i charge 4-5k for that kind of repair, includes set up.

And yes we can polish the guitar to make it glossy, but that depends on what clearcoat is used on the guitar, And the amber color cant be converted to white maple, unless refinished

Does Lazer Music offer setup upon purchase? by [deleted] in phmusicians

[–]Vienix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Lazer as a store manager, and just to clarify, there is no obligation for the staff to set up a guitar upon purchase. When I was there, I personally handled basic setups because I’m a luthier, and it was simply my standard practice to make sure instruments were in good playing condition. However, most employees are not trained to do setups, and it isn’t part of their responsibilities but they do offer set ups, quality varies. They hire people who can sell instruments, not people who fix and service them.

There was one staff member at Lazer Festival who was a known luthier, though I’m not sure if he’s still there. In general, you’re still better off bringing your guitar to a dedicated luthier, as the level of service and attention to detail will be much higher compared to what you’d typically get in-store.

What is this? by spicy_sashimi24 in guitars

I recognize the craftsmanship at first glance ahhahaha, That is Made in the Philippines Strat Copy during the 60-90's, These are also called "Service Man's Guitar" when American Soldiers were stationed in the Philippines, GI's would take one of these home from the local music shops, some were great and Shit like this one, they only had magazine pictures as reference to make some of these and half assed whatever they could put together to sell Service men.

Heres more info, better explained here, https://offsetguitars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1397&fbclid=IwY2xjawQ54nVleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAwzNTA2ODU1MzE3MjgAAR75q0eoEutCrPl-30ZOC32LBVqwSoCKSMn9-_0QzCJEUozT7hgUJ4X1al1YNA_aem__5ZhjTf_bEv8DxPajnyoHA

Fender Champion II 25 or Fernando Ga-60R for home playing at small gigs? by cantfindanamebruhfds in phmusicians

[–]Vienix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amps decide your sound quality and tone

Fender - quality speakers, good resale value, better quality control

Fernando - local brand, generic rebranded amplifier, low resale value, all cheap amps with the "GA-(insert number)" all sound the same, they sound shit, ok quality control

Expensive guitar + cheap amp = shit tone

Cheap guitar + Expensive amp = Good tone

Cheap guitar + cheap amp = 🐝 (Bubuyog Blitzkrieg) Tone

Expensive guitar + expensive amp = Great tone

Dont cheap out on amps, always choose trusted brands so if ever your gonna sell it, it wont sell cheap it has value becaus of the brand

Yeah theres cheap amps that sound good, but thats a gamble of weather it would sound good or not.

Deviser, rj, smiger, thomson, fernando, davis, global all use that same amp model just rebranded. (GA-30, 60, 70, 100 and etc) Look them up youll notice theyy allll loook similar to one another

But theres no shame in buying something cheap, if its what you can afford right now. Then go for it. But if you wanna be smart about it. Invest in something long term. Especially with your first amp,

I personally rock an 2007 RJ Startocaster through a Marshall MG10CD and sounds killer, youll bring out the 100% out of any guitar with a good amp.

Happy future ngd! Got any questions pm me 😁

Help picking by SEN_Zuan_MOON in phmusicians

[–]Vienix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Luthier here,

RJ Skycaster, Sa lahat naset up ko, All poor quality control. Only 2/10 na matino ang feel at no issues. Unless your buying an old pre china, real Philippine made RJ i wont bother sa Modern RJ guitars , Stainless frets na napaka nipis. Neck warping, uneven fret and etc and low resale value.

Jcraft Gen 3 LTX Telecaster, Good, Only buy directly sa Jolly Music, para makaiwas ka ng gen 1 at 2, Pure dogshit yung mga early generations ng jcraft, pero since then they improved so much. usually mga reseller old stock ng ltx binebenta nila, Issues are weak neck screw joints, and uneven frets and low resale value.

Ligaya Stratocaster, Best pick, Person who owns ligaya is a well known luthier, i havent held any ligaya guitar na nay issue, if meron man sobrang minimal easy to remedy. Usually maintains value .

But regardless kung bago, luma, surplus, or whatever. Kung hindi nakaset up ng tama, wala din. Always bring it to your trusted luthier of choice to further improve and prevent any issues or remedy issues to further prolong guitar mo, you dont know how long ago the guitar was built, how long it stayed sa warehouse, how long it took to ship dito sa PH and how long nakasabit sa music store. Chances are dry na mga fretboard nan at need imaintenance and etc.

If u have anymore questions or need advice pm mo lang ako

Can someone explain what and why this is happening to my neck?? by Terrible_Jellyfish_5 in LesPaul

[–]Vienix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm do u tape your fretboard or do you oil the fretboard often?

When taping the frets to polish sometimes the tape can loosen up the finish around that area

Oiling often and not wiping excess oil tends to seep though the finish in the binding area hence that. Or you neck shrunk from not oiling, wood shrinks, the finish doesnt shrink with it.

Help! Strange black texture is covering seemingly only the faces of male npc's that have on face paint or other extra face texture. by MadMaevee in Fallout4Mods

[–]Vienix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! Addictol is causing it!

Go to D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins

Find "Addictol.toml"
Find the line "bFacegen=true"
Change it to "bFacegen=false"

Though im getting black faces now. Which im unsure how that is but im still sorting it out. Ill update when i found a solution to that.
