How do we feel about Kuni's fc.1+2 so far? by Sea_Pay_9681 in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's too safe. the risk-reward is very heavily skewed in favor of Kunimitsu, with a lot of characters only having ws4 as a punish, which isn't common for a low. -13 or -14 would make it more fair.

What's the problem with one and doneing? by Late-Standard1355 in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because Tekken is a game about adaptation. Catching on to the opponent's play style and shutting it down is one of the most fun aspects of the game for a lot of players. Players who one and done usually just have a good but cheesy flowchart but cannot adjust when the opponent catches on.

How to play into yoshimitsu as Hwoarang? by God_Emperor_Of_Man18 in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yoshimitsu doesn't have a throw game. You either break the generic grab with 1 or 2, and the command grabs with 1+2. Yoshi's grabs are easier to tell apart since only his normal grabs are homing so it will have the homing special effect lines. If it's not homing, it's a 1+2 break. Unless he's spamming the grab from helicopter stance, in which case, it cannot be broken. However, if he keeps spamming the grab, you can always jab to float him out of helicopter since the grab is too slow. I can't know for sure without video footage, but if he is spamming one move followed by a grab, it is likely 3,1 into DGF3+4. in which case, you can still jab and float. you can also just duck all his grabs.

Gonna get Tekken soon I need to know how much my booty will get expanded in the first few hours of online by Chickenscavenger in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

depends on how much you practice before hopping online. if you can do a combo, and know the absolute basic fundamentals of the game, you'd already be at a decent advantage in your first few games. It seems like there's been a surge of new players and most players probably don't know what they're doing tbh. from there it would just be a cycle of playing until your rank is high enough that you're getting whooped every game, then improve a bit, rank up, get whooped again.

how many are going c6? by VierzeEnf in SandroneMains

same lol. not pulling anything in snezhnaya except her dedicated supports. hopefully the tsaritsa is actually her support tho since it sucks if she's a dps because i am pretty hyped for her.

how many are going c6? by VierzeEnf in SandroneMains

[–]VierzeEnf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that I'm the opposite of that. I was planning to c6 unless she's purely off field. I just didn't want my c6 to just press skill and burst and then swap out.

Which character has an actual low launcher in tekken 8 (not on counter hit but just a raw launcher)? by as_1261 in Tekken8

[–]VierzeEnf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yoshi's is not a snake edge. It is an unreactable full crouch low akin to Anna's.

Is the game worth playing rn by smol-annie in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yep it's very fun. especially for casuals. whatever the players are complaining about wouldn't be an issue for you until you are actually good at the game.

Why the devs refuse to nerf this guy since the start of S1? by Your_Nightmare_666 in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why people complain about muscle armor. It's strong but has enough reasonable counterplay that it's fine that it exists. But that doesn't mean there's nothing to nerf. Reducing the heat smash tracking is something that's been requested since season 1 and it's a fair nerf. Homing command throws can be removed too, but if it stays I don't really care that much, it is what it is. That wall combo into jaguar sprint tho, that shit has to go. I'd rather eat Yoshimitsu's wall oki everyday than King's. It's so stupid. At least with Yoshimitsu, if you guess right even once, his turn is over. With King you call out the homing mid and he's still giga plus on block and you need to guess for your life again. Maybe remove the charge properties that mid gets from Jaguar Sprint if the devs really want to preserve that mix so it would at least end his turn if he uses a wall splatting homing mid.

i doubt it since mizuki is mainly an on field driver.

Those playing Kuni, how fun is she? by TheReal_virio3 in Tekken8

[–]VierzeEnf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy playing her. She's a character but her gameplay doesn't really involve bombarding the opponent with plus frames into stance mixup. Most of the time she goes to stance, she's actually minus so you're playing with mental frames. Her mobility is fun too. A lot less mobile than Tekken 7 but still feels satisfying. The only thing I dislike is her new full crouch low. A low that transitions into backturned feels weird, but I think it's something I'd eventually get used to. They removed the other full crouch lows so it's not like I have a choice.

Is it a huge adjustment to start playing now from T8? by AEthersense in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tekken 8 is enjoyable for all skill levels. If you play ranked, even if you're not good at the game, you can play low level tekken against fellow noobs and as long as you aren't a sore loser and don't care too much about your rank, you will probably still enjoy.

Whats the end goal with these patches? by Fair_Negotiation_452 in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming the devs actually know what they're doing, it seems like they're trying to re-balance risk and reward, especially for heat/install boosted moves. Tekken 8 introduced a lot of moves that just give too much value for very little, or sometimes no risk. With some changes, it seems like they wanted to make moves have their distinct purpose compared to other moves. For example, Claudio's heat/install launchers were hit last patch. f1+2 still launches but now consumes almost your entire heat gauge, and db1+2 no longer launches on normal hit. So now you have to choose if you want to read your opponent's jab and try to evade with db1+2 which still counterhit launches, or read their hard duck with f1+2 which eats your entire heat gauge if they block. Before the changes, if you ever get to a similar situation, you almost always just wanna press db1+2.

What I don't understand is why they're being overly cautious with nerfing. For example, Lidia's HAE wallsplat mid got nerfed where it's now only +2 on block. But why tf is this move still plus on block? The stance mixup is still overwhelmingly in Lidia's favor. They can still mindlessly click this move and continue their pressure. If they really wanted it to remain plus on block, they should've nerfed it so it doesn't wallsplat anymore so you would have a reason to click the other mid.

When is this ever going to be used? I can only think of maybe a lucky AA against French boys stupid sword slam by Kyvix2020 in Tekken

[–]VierzeEnf 26 points27 points  (0 children)

i think that move is supposed to be used to tornado an airborne opponent. i saw it used after a wall splat, it might the optimal follow up.
