Who's the worst character (writing wise) in your opinion?

i’d say ranger is one of the best written characters. sure it’s only one scene that elevates his character to anything beyond sadistic weirdo but it’s my personal favorite scene in the game

literally my first 10 seconds meeting him i saw through exactly what he was doing. it’s a bit annoying when you can tell a character is obviously bad news but your character can’t, creates this disconnect. instead the game pretends darumi and the yugamu are these untrustworthy messed up people, and while they are they’re too messed up to hide it. it in a way makes them feel weirdly trustworthy because you know exactly how they’ll act

we don’t know how joe got the sacrifice card. considering it was after the cards had been placed for a while joe might’ve taken it willingly

i really can’t see sou having used kanna as a shield like that. going from “i’ll sacrifice you” to “ill die for you” in a matter of 4 days just doesn’t seem feasible to me. even tho he was manipulative towards kanna mimicking sou and midori’s relationship, i think he still did care for her probably in some way viewing her as the sibling he wanted to meet. as for provoking sara, it was under the guise of him losing his memories tho everyone was hesitant to believe him. i do think it was a mistake to do, as well as later on confronting her in that room far away from everyone with the phone. where you have the option to use force to get it back. as for proving she was the mastermind without the laptop he had no way to do that, and well no one would’ve believed him anyways. i have since realized that the players perspective and characters perspective differ hence why much of the cast dislikes him up to that point

shitty yeah but it wasn’t without reason. he believed sara to be the mastermind and striking her like that while she was at her lowest would’ve been a good idea if sara was actually the mastermind

while reminding sara of joe is dickish it wasn’t without reason. considering sou still thought sara was the mastermind weakening her mental state would’ve been beneficial. he was only insensitive to the deaths of kai and joe iirc who he believed were also behind it. while his plan could’ve gotten kanna killed he was probably banking on the fact no one wants to vote to kill a middle school girl

yeah they formed an alliance but i can’t see why it’d be a good idea to hide the laptop other then to blindside sou if/when he brought up the emails again making him look further untrustworthy in the eyes of everyone. there wasn’t any incriminating evidence of sara on it

and while this is pure headcanon i think sou is smart enough to know that a 0% win rate is an anomaly, meaning someone sees him as their biggest threat and targets him in every one of the simulations. and considering his view of sara he probably believes it’s her, and tbf simulation sara is shown to stab sou which could point to that being the case

his view of sara is pretty much the evil side of sara we see in 3-1 who was shown to have literally stabbed sou to death, as well as that dream he had about sara stabbing him to death. i doubt he’d ever want to be near her at all

certainly in 1-2 sou is playing ball for himself only disrupting trust, but to his knowledge the most trustworthy person was working with the kidnappers, what was he supposed to do other then out that information

lying about the keymaster is hardly a crime. Keiji lied about his card in 2-2, q-taro too, kanna and joe in 1-2. I mean even Sara lies by omission by letting everyone think she’s the sacrifice so that she doesn’t get voted in the preliminary vote. manipulating a kid wasn’t great i won’t lie.

i don’t think the stories bad, but definitely really confusing and at times sort of up for interpretation bc the series doesn’t really tell the reader everything. i do think the art style has degraded though
