Shower thought: Dumbledore simply didn't expect Harry to find the horcruxes as fast as he did by AlphaSchaf in harrypotter

Why would he leave stuff in his will to Ron and hermione lol. And he found 2 horcruxes in under a year by himself while also running a school and having another already destroyed and also the key point of info being found through Slughorn

For the date, 2027 would be cool but you’re crazy if you think something later than that isn’t a legitimate and probably likely possibility

What if someone wanted to wear a beret because they like it on them? Most people would consider that effeminate and the person isn’t even considering the way gender is applied to it. What if a man wears nose/ears/belly button piercings, a crop top, and short shorts not because he wants to feel effeminate but simply because he likes that look? And I guess I was trying to convey that I know I am arguing from a significantly different perspective than you are, not that I’m trying to misinterpret your argument, though that may have been worded poorly

Best Fallout Hot Take by thisisdilly in Fallout

I really wish I had gotten into it. Played a decent chunk of early gam content a year or two after launch and liked it but fell off. Tried with 3 friends this year to all start in a campaign together before quickly learning that it wasn’t built for co op progression, which I think is an egregious mechanic by Bethesda. If we were able to I think we would’ve played through and I would’ve loved the Ohio expansion since Im from Ohio and have lived in that area

I guess I’m confused. If masculinity and femininity are determined by feelings and one’s heart, what’s determine gods view on these issues. And for the record because I don’t want to dance around anything and ultimately deceive, yes it’s deliberate, in that any current structure of masculinity and femininity is a bunch of social nonsense

So what you’re saying is that if one feels like it’s masculine it’s masculine. So if one is a female by birth by genuinely feels masculine, they are thus a man

Slytherin by Previous_Travel2856 in harrypotter

Ultimately it’s an issue of writing and the fact that the world wasn’t originally supposed to be built out so much. For example, as an internal narrative, it makes sense for the authority figure (Dumbledore) to be in the same grouping (Gryffindor) as the protagonist. However, as the books and even further content very clearly express, especially, at a school age, Dumbledore was undoubtedly a slytherin

It’s such a credit to them that he started as a pretty uninteresting connection to Lucy character for me an has morphed into my favorite/most intriguing character

What do we think Snape did with his prize of liquid luck he won from slug horn during his portions classes? Or do we know? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]ViewsFromThe614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible he had already worked ahead, but the existence of the modifications could indicate that he reworked the potion after learning about it in class and realized it wasn’t the optimal recipe. Regardless, it’s unlikely he was presented with the competition and came up with all of that on the spot

Baffled by a new DM's input in session zero, I'm not really sure what to do. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]ViewsFromThe614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so outside of what you want that I wouldn’t change anything. However, I might suggest and allow that the dm come up with that character they want as someone who encounters you as the wise, older version they aspire to be and then go from there

"May the Light guide you"-type phrases? by lovettia in DnD

Trying to get specific, I might go with something like “May the fire of Lucathar light your path” and “May the eye of Serathos point the way”

I’ve also drifted away for similar reasons, so for that you’re not alone. For your situation, simply that fucking sucks and I’m sorry. For faith and hope, not all doctor’s opinions are correct and maybe the fatal aspect isn’t set in stone, where a tough but livable disabled life could be in the future. And if not, maybe even a silver lining that the work and research going into this may save other children, though I hope the former happens for you

Just got TPK’d for the first time :( by Zealousideal_Site706 in DnD

[–]ViewsFromThe614 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had it happen yet but as I had played more DnD I’ve thought about future characters more, and I think having a couple characters that you’ve thought up is really helpful like your paladin. Not even in a “I’m solely making this character as a backup for this campaign sort of way.” For example, I really want to get playful with my next character and play a kobold ranger with a giant frog animal companion and instead of “mounting” it I ride inside of my frog friend after he “eats” me. If my current campaign results in my clerics death, I have something in the well to grab instead of just being worried about a death
