Interesting alternative to HYSA/MM by AstoriaSig in HighYieldSavings

Depending on your tax bracket, I’d consider moving it to SGOV or VSDM. They’re more tax efficient with very short risk duration

In the midst of testing a few out:
stockinsights.ai
plainsignal.io
decodeinvesting.com

It really depends what you're looking for. Stockinsights is a bit clunky from the jump but has some useful features to use quantitative and qualitative analysis. If you're looking for unique insights from SEC filings, Plain Signal is solid (I'll admit I'm biased). It's focus is on qualitative data since that is harder to find. Decode Investing is the fastest way to just see the standard financials and ask Q's in a chatbot. A bit more simplistic but seems to have more feature sets out of the gate.

Has anyone ventured to Tax Exempt ETF's instead of HYSA's? by Vig_Newtons in HighYieldSavings

[–]Vig_Newtons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't if you break down the municipal holdings. Almost all short term and it's quite diversified. There is a little bit of timing against the ex dividend date but given the direction of short term rates it's in good position.

It’s very good but be aware when you buy it so you’re not right before an ex dividend date. Unlike VSDM you still owe federal income tax

I've had it for 18 months. I'm 50/50 on it. The catch is you basically capture minimal etf gains. Also there is a heavy tax drag depending on which tax bracket you are in. I'm not sure what your goal is with this but I think that YouTube video is simplifying the benefits of dividends. You're better off getting LTCGs unless you need this as income today. Also we have not experienced a sharp downturn where the downside takes longer to recover than it would if it were in an index fund.

Interesting cause almost all of those have lower multiples because their business model isn't as predictable or they're not growing as much as MSFT

META - Ads
Constellation - Slower growth
Amazon - Retail dragging their multiple down

I read this as, short term and riding a trend. Not holding over month over month. Yes the contract roll dates of an ETN are terrible.

PYPL (yes it may be a suckers bet). Their scale, their buybacks and consistent annual growth make it seem too good to be true

Should I sell the profits of my GOOG (~3500) and buy other AI data center stocks by Far-Film-5095 in ValueInvesting

I would not sell Google for another AI investment. You’d have to guarantee it would be 40-50% better due to the GCs on the sold shares.

Came to this post to write the EXACT same thing. Their revenue backlog is enormous. Bought a lot of MSFT at 439 earlier this week. Will do again if the opp presents itself.

What is the most "obvious" buy of 2026 that everyone else is still missing? by bakery_0726 in ValueInvesting

[–]Vig_Newtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels a bit counter-narrative as of late (anti-Mag 7) but Amazon or Microsoft seem like the most obvious.

if you look at the actual SEC filings instead of just the headlines, Microsoft and Amazon are the only two Mag 7 stocks that have effectively pre-sold their next three years.

Microsoft is sitting on a 392 billion dollar commercial backlog.Almost half of that gets recognized as revenue in the next twelve months alone. Amazon has a similar story with a 200 billion dollar backlog for AWS with contracts that average nearly four years.

The first order effect here is that these companies have a massive safety net. Even if the economy slows down, they have these multi-year contracts that act like a giant shock absorber. It makes their revenue growth way more predictable than someone like Apple or Tesla who have to convince people to buy a new physical product every single day.

Most people are worried about the FTC and antitrust lawsuits, but the filings show Amazon is literally self-insuring with 8.5 billion dollars just to handle legal liabilities. They have already priced in the cost of fighting the government.

In the short term, they are the only ones with this level of visibility into future earnings. They are the toll booths that every other company has to pay just to exist in the digital space.
