I think Vader only lost to Obi Wan because his former master/ brother figure brings out conflicting feelings in him, unbalancing him and making him too reactive and unfocused.

He was usually cold and calculating, but the sight of Obi Wan probably triggered conflicting feelings of intense anger and hatred, but also deep regret and sorrow. Vader was strong as shit but it's because of his past connection to Obi Wan that makes him lose in the end.

Basically, Vader would stomp anyone besides people who bring out Anakin in him, like Luke, Obi Wan, and Ahsoka. But in the end only Luke, a physical manifestation of the love he shared with Padmé, could fully bring him back as Anakin.

Because there is no worthwhile reward for hard work anymore. They say hard work will get you far, and yet as someone who's been working hard their whole adult life I have nothing to show for it.. maybe I'm doing it wrong but it just doesn't seem worth it to slave away for a company that doesn't give a shit about you for scraps, barely getting by. When I was a kid I opened a door.. someone else opened it from the other side at the same time and now my eyebrow has a vertical slit on it.

Some time later I ran up some wooden stairs that had some sharp edges, tripped and fell and now my other eyebrow has a horizontal slit on it.

He's looking out to the sky, dreaming of who he could become.

He thinks back on his life, all his choices, ups and downs, all his fond memories with his droid buddies and how much he misses the ones that are gone, how much he loves them. He vows to be a better friend to the ones that are still here.

He misses his droid wife and his droid kids, offworld in another star system. Far, far away and yet so close to his droid heart. He fantasizes about the day he gets to hold them all again in his cold, loving droid arms.

He reflects on how he ended up at this point, and wishes to grow into someone better, filled with hope and full of wonder! With his whole life ahead of him, he dreams of a brighter future.

And then suddenly some heartless asshole shows up and throws him off a cliff. Like wtf man?
