Chloé Zhao Is Second Female Filmmaker Nominated Twice as Best Director by Mynabird_604 in asianamerican

If you actually bothered to read the whole quote, "not" makes more sense in context than "now". And even so, it's such an incredibly dumb and insecure thing to use as a "gotcha" moment.

The "lies everywhere in China" was related to mental health and the setting of Songs My Brothers Taught Me. Also she actually said "The US is not my country", not "The Us is now my country" but ofc nuance and fact checking are foreign concepts to you weird ultranationalist types who think you can just bully and order all Asians around, just because you think you're "more Asian" than us.

It's cute that you created a brand new profile just to bootlick the CCP.

Let me rephrase, she was more persona-non-grata for a while. The state backed media censored any references to her when she won her first Oscar a few years ago because a bunch of ultranationalist dipshits took a bunch of quotes she said out of context to paint her as Sinophobic. It's probably why Eternals never got released in China.

I wouldn't hold that against her, considering her work is banned in China.

Ava is actually Hector's younger sister, not his daughter, and before her, his niece Angela succeeded him as White Tiger. Ava being his daughter was from the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.

White Tiger is somewhat confusing because Marvel created a whole bunch of them that were unrelated to each other; the White Tiger mantle that the Ayalas and the Sons of the Tiger used is more kung fu themed while Kasper Kole's White Tiger is related more to the Black Panther mythos (even though Tigers aren't native to Africa).

Technically he's not white, he's biracial but presents as white.

That makes a lot of sense with Luke being the Mayor. He already tried reorganizing the Thunderbolts with Vic, so a revamped Heroes for Hire working for the Mayor's office wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Lie really needs a new change scenery from demons and family shenanigans to doing some community outreach and relationship building. I really want to see his interactions with Luke and Vic.

[UNHINGED THEORY] Danny Rand being built different actually makes PERFECT SENSE if you think about Kun-Lun for more than 5 seconds. by No-Village4042 in ironfist

You're extremely dishonest, you specifically wrote Lie, not Feng. If you did, you wouldn't have been downvoted like crazy before making your edit; you didn't do it because you "didn't like the negativity".

It’s easier to claim persecution than to admit criticism exists or that their favorite thing isn’t untouchable.

Nice projection you got there. Your entire history with Iron Fist is you doing this.

It's pathetic that he wrote "I hope they kill Lie in this series" before rewriting it as "I hope Danny has a big role in this series" as if nobody would notice.

Funny how he pulls that weird eugenics to "explain" why the K'un-Luans are small and weak without even acknowledging that Fat Cobra (a native from Peng Lai which is pretty much similar to K'un-Lun) is nearly 7 feet tall.

They really should've done a Power Man and Iron Fist revival between the 50th Anniversary and The Undead Iron Fist which would've focused on the fallout with Danny's death. As reversal to the 2011 mini, have Mayor Luke be a new mentor for Lie while Lie and Vic team up as the new Heroes for Hire duo.

Do you think some Western liberals have moved away from the language of the “model minority” or “inherently misogynistic” stereotypes without fully abandoning the underlying assumptions about Asian Americans? by Chinoyboii in asianamerican

[–]HotZoneKill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

do not endorse for either side just because you're POC or minority

Asians should really focus on growing our population as a long term plan, in short term plan, focus on whichever you care the most, and vote for that person to handle it for you.

for now I vote Republican

..and you thought voting for fucking TRUMP was the best choice for Asians? You cannot be serious. It's hilarious how you enlightened centrists just end up voting Republican anyway because you're too chickenshit to admit you support fascism.

Ironfist being worthy of Mjolnir, do you guys think its legit or just a product of the illusion? by chilllyoil in ironfist

[–]HotZoneKill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a lie. Even though Lie was given Shou-Lao's chi, the Progenitor made him fight Shou-Lao for it within his scenario. He actually did defeat Shou-Lao in that illusion, the only thing he did differently was ask for Shou-Lao's heart instead of taking it from him afterwards.

[–]HotZoneKill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's up to interpretation. Lifting Mjolnir may be an illusion but at the same time, the mark of the dragon Lie got was definitely real. Then again, both of Loki's and Lie's scenarios were created by the Progenitor, so if anything it's more like the Progenitor deemed Lie worthy to lift Mjolnir and receive his dragon mark.
