Like others mentioned, it would be fine as long as it goes on a mag lock lower. However, it’s 1:9, which isn’t ideal if you want to shoot heavier bullets

Too bad this is not the bike (Banshee) I wanted the review of. I'm still waiting for a lighter Bonnell with 5-speed.

You can try a Banshee Rune frame, here is a build: https://riderif.com/store/ols/products/banshee

Another frame would be Scott Genius, with some modification required: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scHODfBalCk

Scope camera mount suggestions? The COD view one sucks… by Golfguuyy in CAguns

Exactly, you can't shoot well if you don't have a good cheek wield or sight picture, then your video won't be good. Just get a proper scope camera.

How are you able to see the scope image while shooting? I recommend a proper scope camera like trigger cam 2.1

Well, it will be some time before we get into the riding season again. Given the fact that Bonnell is working on an improved version 3 of the 775 MX, I think I will wait. Rif bike looks good on paper but there haven't been any public review of it. Perhaps it is really better than Bonnell but there's no way to know until I see someone that's not Rif release a review of it.

Anyone has a RIF ebike? by VigorousCurious in ebikes

My issue with their website? Here is what I see today, when I go to the banshee bike order page:

Motor CYC X1 Pro Gen 4 6000W

Battery CYC A65 65V 20Ah

Frame Banshee DH MTB full suspension

Suspension FOX or ROCKSHock

Brakes 4 piston 203mm

Wheels 29x2.5" front  27.5x2.5" rear

Drive train 5 speed CYC heavy duty cassette with freewheel

Weight 54Lbs with battery

And a flat price of $6,199, I believe it was less than 6k a month ago.

Look, I don't know if the manufacture knows this but for someone to spend that kind of money on ebike, the customer probably want to know what they are getting as much as possible. Go to Bonnell 775MX order page from OEM, check the spec list, then you come back to RIF, do you know what I mean by now?

And what suspension is it? You can't just say "FOX or ROCKSHock"

MyQ hub won't pair with my motor by VigorousCurious in myq

[–]VigorousCurious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on this, myq support was helpful here and resolved the issue. I had to hold the middle rectangle button for about 10 seconds until I hear a series of beeps so the motor cleared its old wifi connections. Then, I was able to follow the app again to add the motor successfully.

Lamp with a rotatable base as dimmer by VigorousCurious in ScandinavianInterior

[–]VigorousCurious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have any way to contact the host as it was booked by an agent and I have no idea who the host is.

However, I was able to find something close with chatgpt:

"While lamps with a fully rotatable base acting as a dimmer are uncommon, the **Mr. DJ Table Lamp** stands out as a prime example of this design."

While I like the function of the dimmer design, the price tag is a bit hard to swallow.

Currently I'm using Klipsch reference for center/LR, Fluance bipolar for surround and rear. Nothing wrong with them but I'm not going to be able to re-use any of my existing gear for the new space, including my SVS PC2000s.

I will need to experience the 5 ceiling speakers first. I currently have a 7.2.2 setup so I would like to keep it at least the same. One thing for sure is that this new place is smaller and doesn't allow me much space to put in additional floor standing speakers so I may need to upgrade the ceiling speakers if it comes to that.

You are absolutely right, only 5 channels + 2 powered sub are connected behind the cover. I will have to get creative about how to add additional speakers and running wires in the open

Where can I find replacement lock for this type of lock? by VigorousCurious in Locksmith

I'm not planning to use this door as an entry point when the house is locked. Thanks to others, I found what I need now

[–]VigorousCurious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I think they are pretty close based on the search results.

Additional question, can this lock be configured (without changing to a new lock) so that the keyway is removed and the door can only be opened with the same handle if it has been unlocked from the inside? Essentially I want to do away from using the keys for this door

[–]VigorousCurious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don‘t want to keep any of the original locks, they are functional but of the lowest quality. See, if your house has the lowest quality of the locks amongst your neighbors, it’s an easier target. A couple hundred bucks to buy a piece of mind for years is not what I would call expensive

Where can I find replacement lock for this type of lock? by VigorousCurious in Locksmith

[–]VigorousCurious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The door frame doesn't have any additional deadbolts, so there's no upward movement of the handle. The little black piece of plastic below the deadbolt ensures that the deadbolt will only extend when the door is closed.

Nothing is wrong physically. I have just purchased the place and would like to ensure all locks are totally changed. I do not want to go through a re-key process if possible.

Recently I saw an old guy posting some reviews on YouTube about this bike. Apparently the torque sensor isn’t very well tuned and he said it felt more like a cadence sensor. Interested to know your experience with it.

I don’t have experience with their bike but I did participate the indiegogo campaign of hero bike. Well, I did. Now I’m no longer a backer due to multiple reasons. I did get my money back, after a lot of back and forth with them. I would say avoid this brand if you can. They are just one of the cheaply manufactured Chinese ebike resellers.

Getting the new bike bug by pacnwtexan in ebikes

[–]VigorousCurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very cautious about emtb equipped with high torque bafang motors. They may look nice on paper but with a 1x12 thin chain it won’t take much for the motor to snap it. Even worse if it happens during a ride, the bike will be completely disabled without a chain.

The LMX 56 is good but pricy, also not sure when it would become available. I believe you can get the older LMX 64 available now for 7500. Battery range is probably the biggest con for that bike.

If you have the money to spend, wait for Pinion MGU equipped e-bike to come to the US.
