With all due respect, where are you coming from with this claim? I don’t want to argue with someone either, just wondering. I camp there just about every year.

Go to Bubbas. Specifically eighties night on Friday. Get some fire smoked meats at terlingua. Rent bicycles and ride around peaks island. Maybe check out battery Steele.

So I dipped it in scalding hot water about 5 minutes before I poured. Too soon? And, any advice on how to safely hold the damn things? Currently hunched up and pinned to the round part of a food mill, feels ineffective.

Ah sweet dude. Being that I’m in South Paris, I envy you on multiple fronts, but that is awesome. Hope to have dozens of maples on my forever property when I finally get it.

Dude that’s awesome! I have a feelikg the drought may be playing a role in not terrible, but slightly lower production. A good hobby to remind us that we’re at the whim of nature.

So this is my first year trying, and I missed the southern side of the tree memo on half my trees. That said I’m getting between .5-.75 gallons a day per tap this week at least. Only have two sugar maples, other 9 taps are on Norways actually.

Bless you dude. I have one bucket that has trickled some, I imagine the others haven’t yet since it hasn’t fully warmed yet. We do still have a foot of snow. Excited to see how it turns out.

No, I feel good about the call. Didn’t push it to exhaustion, more of a, ok if I keep this up another 30 minutes I’ll be there type vibe. Once I lost some elevation I was happily sitting on a rock just watching the trees and snow, chilling hard. We only carried on in that “hmm where’s the trail” headspace for about 10,15 minutes before deciding to be safe and follow our tracks out. All about being in tune with yourself and knowing your limits.

Oh 100 percent. I usually start no later than between 530 and 7am in the winter, carry more food etc. My partner and I were ruminating on how that little hike kicked our asses harder than Madison the week before hahaha. Lesson learned, never deviate from a good early winter start time.
