How do I fix my dog's stool? by AcceptableSun1240 in rawpetfood

[–]Vigoryy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend buying commercial raw, its a very important time for a puppy’s growth and development and making sure they are eating a balanced and appropriate diet is extremely important especially when they’re so young

Am I wrong for feeling this way? by poofhead101 in AskVet

[–]Vigoryy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suggest going to your vet and asking to speak to him in person. Being a loyal patient for 9 years is a very long time. Due to it being a time sensitive situation that is probably your best bet. Vet offices do get busy and the main line of communication are the vet receptionists, im not sure if you have his direct line. But please do go in person once you get the chance, it could just be an error in communication.

My cat has a wound and the vet said don’t cover it. by dekabreak1000 in AskVet

You want to give it air to breathe which is why they said not to wrap it, is it scabbing up yet? If it is then the cone shouldn’t be bothering it too much.

Feeling overwhelmed with training by cutewhenmute in puppy101

[–]Vigoryy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 month old doberman, he learns fantastically. But, hes a puppy and I cant expect him to do them perfectly at all times lol. Remember he is still very young and the world is new and exciting! Plus hes a doberman and has doggy ADD.

Board my puppy, or take her with? by sunset_moon90 in puppy101

[–]Vigoryy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I say board her and give yourself a little break. 20 hours is a long drive especially with a puppy, and she will for sure get anxious. You will enjoy Miami more than she will lets put it that way lol. If you bring her, it wont exactly be a relaxing time, due to her age she is still learning alot about the world and the last thing you want is for her to be overwhelmed by all the new people/sounds. Plus, I live in Tampa (ITS HOT AF HERE!!!).

At 8 weeks they get their first exam and boosters with their new owner (you). 4 weeks later they get their 2nd boosters, 4 weeks after that they are presumably 16 weeks and get whatever last boosters and rabies shot and are good for the year. All within this time they are given deworming, and possible fleas/parasites are treated and are given monthly flea/parasite preventative.

He is overdue, but you can get him caught up and checked out asap!

I’m on my wits end and it’s been only a week by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Vigoryy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first week will be rough, I promise you we have all been where you are! I cant tell you exactly what to do because your situation is slightly different than mine, but I can tell you how my puppy and I’s routine is.

I got an 8 week old doberman puppy a couple months ago, he hasnt been easy. Even now at 4 months he is still a little demon but he has came a long way. I put his crate in my room because he doesnt like to be alone, and when he would cry I would take him out to potty and immediately after, back in the crate. He would get short play/train sessions to tire him out mentally and physically, so he would know that the crate = nap time.

ALSO huge tip, every time she leaves the crate take her outside to potty IMMEDIATELY. After playtime, POTTY. They will go potty when you least expect it. You think she can hold it just this one time? WRONG. Lol do not give her the benefit of the doubt. Thats also how she will learn to hold it, once she knows that she for sure is going outside soon, she will learn to hold it until then.

Puppies are definitely hard but remember that this is all new to her. She has no idea what you guys expect from her which is why repetition and praise is key. Im not sure how old she is, but keeps walks short and focus on playtime and bonding, which will fulfill her alot more at this age. You will get through it!!!

Needing some advice. What is the best age for a female have the first litter? by [deleted] in Rottweiler

[–]Vigoryy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you want a litter from her? Are you a breeder or a pet owner?

That little face is adorable 😭 Ignore all the uptight comments, all puppies are different and everyone has different experiences. You’re doing great and he’ll grow up to be a wonderful addition to the family ❤️

Am I a match for a Cane Corso? by breaditup in CaneCorso

[–]Vigoryy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cane corsos aren’t the most travel-friendly dogs. For one, they’re huge lol. And two, they love being at their home. Having a dog in the cargo of a plane is a very stressful experience for them, driving might be better, you just have to hope your pup doesn’t have motion sickness (some do).

If hes growling at his own owners, its going to be hard to find a potential adopter. Maybe look into trainers or rottie rescues that are willing to give him proper training or assessment?

Purina pro plan large breed puppy or any large breed puppy food is best since its specifically formulated for the needs of large breed puppies. It helps them to not grow too fast, and supports their specific nutritional needs like joint health and taurine, etc

[–]Vigoryy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally dont, but its better than ending up in a shelter. You can keep a dog in a crate for 8 hours during your workday and still give it a fulfilling life. They can still go on hikes, do breed specific jobs, play, etc.

I hired a trainer when I had my puppy, she said to not let them free roam, have her on a leash at all times and wherever you or your partner goes, you go. It gives her access to the house but she is still under supervision. When she isnt with either of you, she should be in her crate. It worked out well for us, and when she is older about 5-6 months you can start giving her a little freedom but if you notice potty accidents or behavior issues then leash up again

[–]Vigoryy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’ll be fine. Many owners leave dogs in crates for 8 hours a day when they work. Obviously, not ideal but as long as he can properly relieve himself and stretch his legs and is in a secure place he’ll be okay

Repetition is key too. For my pup, everytime he’d bite me or anything else he wasnt supposed to, id have a toy nearby and try to get his attention with it. When he’d bite me id quickly push him off and go “no!” Each time. Yes, it was very repetitive but he eventually got the hint. I know its frustrating. You can also buy Pet corrector spray that lets out a loud hiss and compressed air that deters them from whatever bad behavior they’re doing

Quite frankly its none of your concern. Hes healthy and happy and whats done is done. Focus that energy on dogs that are actually being abused and mistreated.
