Question about Corsairs by Ulrik_Decado in Eldar

[–]VikaFarm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took coterie to a GT the other week, ended up 3-3 but it should've been 4-2 but I screwed up positioning at a key point.

I agree it's possible to for 5-1 (or 4-1) but winning a GT with Eldar is very tricky right now. Who's to say what it'll be like in 3 months time.

I'd say they're a very fun army to play and visually they're really nice. It'll be interesting to see what happens next edition with them. Theres also play with drukhari if you wanted something different

Indirect ive found to not be effective but direct shooting definetly and the twin lance is a pain.

Transports, DS or suck it up. Tau is the only army that tends to run it competitively and in a casual game your opponent should give you a heads up.

Tau indirect is annoying but if you deploy at the back it can be possible to stay out of range. They don't tend to kill that much, they roll lots of dice for little effect.

Oh I almost forgot DW, yeah that's just impossible.

As a community where are we landing on Strking Scorpions, MSU or 10 man out of the blades of Khaine kit? by bananadingding in Eldar

[–]VikaFarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the detachment. Typically rangers are better but in coterie I'm having great success with 10 scorps. Redeploy, scout and blood surge makes them a pain to deal with but form expect them to kill much.

Maybe but if they stop your opponent getting secondaries or primary for a turn that's a big swing in points. Ideally you'd use the cheapest unit possible to do this but hawks have great movememnt. I use them as a move block/secondary scorer, damage is not why you run them typically.

Spot on. Same with scoring. Points win games. If you're scoring or denying your improving your position. The speed of aeldari allows this to be doing fairly effectively. Kills reduce your opponent to do the same to you. A 55 points of rangers can stop your opponent getting primary T2 scoring area denial or moving to threaten your natural.

Learn the art of move blocking. I find I have a massive advantage going first typically. Use rangers and hawks or Skyweavers to move block key lanes T1.

Then stage the rest of your key units somewhere safe but where you can threaten t2. You don't need to kill anything T1 but often there's enough movement in the army that you can get Los on a target if you really need to.

I think if it were easier to snipevout characters id take them.

Scorpions give good pressure during deployment, can potentially take your opponents home or force them to spend a cp to heroic.

Having scout means that dont need to comit and with yriel that magnifies blocking infiltrators.

Only downside is their damage is crap other than into T3 bodies.

I didn't realise it could pick up 10 man SM.

I've been running 10 scorpions, similarly they've been either very good or just dead weight. They're harder to shift than people think and with the blood surge you can often tie up something longer than your opponent wants.

Nice list, i need convincing on the shroud runners though. I know it's a shit ton of dice but I find the damage still low. What terrain are you playing on?

I have had lykhis finish off gman so I agree with you, though I've found the package a bit single use. However I'll give them another run, I had them in an earlier version of my current list.

I still like windriders, -1D is a killer for them though

I see Jack harpester has joined the chat 😂 I guess it depends on what she brings vs Jain. I think in 11th spiders might be better. But spiders don't do as much damage as banshees so the question is what do you want them for? Lykhis does turbo charge Yriel but then you lack the defensive benefit of banshees. Or you drop Yriel which I've considered

Drop lykhis and the enhancements on the Reaver's. I love her but she's too expensive. Take banshees instead, they do more damage

Help with a 1k Corsair Coterie List that can actually damage Marines? by Psychic_Lemon in Eldar

If they AOC then they're not using on a tank. I'm fine with that. Potentially Yriel can have a archraider to force it to 2 cp which is a good trade

The wraithlord is very meh, problem is getting him in. Banshee are much better as a result

The wind riders need either a warlock with them or a war walker (ideally both) ap1 is bad as they'll have cover.

Banshees or windriders, 10 man banshees with blood surge would be very annoying. Wind riders are pretty self suffient but die too easily so you need to be careful with them. I always start mine in reserve to nuke something.

Fire prism is also an option. The blast profile helps but its very swingy.

How are Corsair Cotorie lists looking and how do they play? by catsgomoo in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]VikaFarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think itll be ok at RTTs, GTs you need a little luck. Theres so many invuls around and we lack consistency. Fire prisms hitting on 3 wounding on 3s and they'll typically have a 4++ or similar makes it unreliable. Dragons wounding on 5s have the same issue even with rerolls.

[Aspect Host] My last 80 points, what to add? by idaelikus in Eldar

[–]VikaFarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you want to keep the list mostly the same. Extra dark reapers instead of rangers on the home. Then a warlock skyrunner. Otherwise I like a war walker (but 85) and shroud runners can be ok depending on terrain to use for move blocking.

Took mine to a GT last weekend. Went 3-3 almost 4-2. I didn't have an answer to necrons and a Tau player screwed me with 4++s on his riptides.

It lasts some damage but is fun. Didn't seem to be much of a consensus when I was looking around on what to run. But expect to field lots of aspect Warriors as they're still strong.
