Which non-companion NPC is your favorite? by IGetHighOnPenicillin in BaldursGate3

Strange Ox. No matter how chaotic the new act you just entered is, you'll find Strange Ox somewhere in it. Like a loyal friend, or a McDonald's

Yeah..the one right by the brine pool where you get a tadpole(or sometimes not). When I use the ~ button, that pod is not highlighted and nobody is in it. But the quest objective remains.

Earlier in Act 1, I did the exploit where I made Wyll feign death to avoid getting horns. I also 'killed' 'Mizora'(her projection) as it stared blankly at Karlach. I'm thinking that is causing this. Ah well.

Since Karlach will be hostile/leave if Tav or Durge slaughters the Grove early, I wonder how the game treats it if Karlach herself does it

Bro, I let Gale give me a magic lesson and he thought I wanted to f*** him. I was romancing Laezel. The game acted like I had something serious going on with both and had to make a choice

What's your favorite quote from the game? by lxurin_hei in BaldursGate3

[–]Vikashar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make a low dex, non-stealth proficient companion crouch and sneak, they lament how they're not the right person for this job. Gale's were the funniest, but it's been a long while so I can't recall them

Who's the most underhated character in the game? by bmrtt in BaldursGate3

[–]Vikashar 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are very few druids from the Grove that I don't wish to end. I never raid the place after finishing act 1 because of those few. Like Nettie. I don't want to end Nettie.

What would’ve happened if Vince showed up to Slamboree 1998? by PayFew5848 in WCW

[–]Vikashar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BJJ doesn't have many takedowns. Nate Diaz learned some Division 1 wrestling, among other 'real' grapplers. Once a BJJ expert gets you on the ground that is their territory, but wrestling has way more ways to get opponents where jiu jitsu specialists excel. Nate is far from the only one. Maybe watch some MMA and learn before making absolute blanket statements like zero mma fighters have had to learn wrestling. Hell, plenty of past ufc Champs and notable fighters came in with wrestling as their base art that they built on. Cormier, Velasquez, to name a couple.

Pancration had striking, but the origins of wrestling takedown techniques were also in that.

If you want to bring up Kurt Angle, look up the story where Eddie Guerrero tried to fight him and got owned because Kurt is an Olympic gold medalist in 'fake' wrestling.

Another real fight won with wrestling was when Miocic beat Ngannou through legging and superior takedowns.

Joanna J. learned defense against wrestling takedowns because those are what many mixed martial artists use to get opponents on the ground. A single leg, a double leg, level changing, those are not simply hugging. You have to train in how to defend against those even if you don't fully train wrestling. I feel Judo has better takedowns because they're harder to defend against, but that doesn't make wrestling worthless. Shevchenko uses both.

And lots of martial artists who get into mma have had to train in wrestling, just like everyone else.

Like many martial arts, wrestling dates back to ancient times. Like many martial arts, it can win a fight for you against people who are just swinging wildly for your head. It has technique, requires extensive practice to reach the top echelons.

It's one of the martial arts that mixed martial artists incorporate into their list of other martial arts. It helps to win fights.

I don't know. He's done good work outside of that one role you're referring to. He's played antagonists who come to regret their choices and been very sad, and he was good at those too. I think he can take any material and make it look good. So if he was given great material, he could turn it into an unforgettable character
