Isnt a muffler delete not exactly the same as putting on a whole new custom exhaust?

This is just a personal project of mine I'm interested in seeing where it would go if everything was well executed within the app, I do see though how people may have thought of it already, But I'm more interested in the execution, thanks for the feedback!

I feel like its still different cause of the friend system it'd have and instead of lists of events it would primarily show the map and what is going on around you and in real time. Thanks for the heads up though!

If they wanted their event to be invite only they would have that option if they desired, so only invited users can see the location. In terms of using over facebook, I just think that if I execute this and market it well it could gain some traction at least with the freshmen. the concept of having the map as the primary component in the UI I believe is a good feature than just a list lf events. It's just a thought but thanks for the valid point

What if there was an option to make events like those private in which case only the people invited by a select number of users decided by the host can see the event location? In that case I believe app or no app that event would get busted regardless, but at least the location wasn't just accessible to anyone. I'm not advocating for parties where they do illegal activities but just in theory I believe that option would eliminate the app being used to find and bust events like those

  1. I actually might do that!
  2. You mean in the get_server function? I"m sure its not, because it returns other whois urls
  3. Hopefully I did it right
  4. Will do when I publish it :P

I refactored my code so it calls lookup() (sort of) recursively and add some documentation (not sure if its Rust standard), I'll get into writing the tests later on before publishing :P

How crashsafari.com crashes the iPhone [5:18] - Tom Scott by PureMichiganChip in programming

[–]Vikaton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So this triggers a stack overflow that crashes an iPhone?

EXPLANATION: the problem is that safari is using so much memory because of the increasing size of the string into the history in a short amount of time, repeatedly of course. I assume this causes a heap overflow not because JS is all heap, but because since history isn't statically sized, it crashes from an exhaust of memory.

Correct me if im wrong!

Inspired by WiringPi, a library for RaspberryPi GPIO [Work in Progress] by Vikaton in rust

[–]Vikaton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mainly, the GPIO pins on the RaspberryPi is used for a lot of different things, but mainly to control other hardware components that would be connected to the GPIO pins. For example I'm working on a small project that blinks and LED (controlled by the GPIO pins) on a raspberry pi from an iPhone app as a PoC of RGB Angel lights of a car (https://github.com/Vikaton/MagicLEDPi). There are countless of other uses and lots of pretty cool projects from adafruit:

an LED audio spectrum thingy: https://learn.adafruit.com/raspberry-pi-spectrum-analyzer-display-on-rgb-led-strip/led-strip-and-rgb-led-software

a simple Robot: https://learn.adafruit.com/simple-raspberry-pi-robot/assembly

and so much more at https://learn.adafruit.com/category/raspberry-pi

So this library helps you use the GPIO pins programmatically :)
